The Cows Are Out!!!

Trees and limbs have been on fences since the ice. We have been working but there was a lot of damage.

This morning the cows were out, heading up the road. Horses usually scope things out and make a plan. Cows are not so conniving. They follow their nose and they follow the leader. The leader decided to follow her nose up the road.

Thanks to our glorious American Border Collies and surprise help from our Jack/Rat Terrier, they were rounded pretty quickly.

Maggie is a heeler.

Lil, the short-haired is a head girl.
Squiggy is a barker and chaser but he was right on their tails...no fear. One well placed kick can kill a dog. Lil got one kick but she is fine. These two ladies herded and held these cows in a bunch while my wonderful hubby fixed the fence

I am sure you are asking, where were you? I was on the back side of the camera, plus I was hubby's gofer...go fer this, go fer that.

Thank you, Maggie, Lil and Squiggy for making our job a lot easier.

I Went To Town

Everyone was shopping even the starlings.

I did not buy any flowers.

Although I was sorely tempted!
I did not buy any seeds.

I concentrated on buying healthy good for you foods.

Frustrated!!!!!

I think I shall leave the computer for a while. Now all my comments are going to the delete folder in my email instead of to my inbox.
Not the day to deal with this!! A puppy would not even help me.

Honoring All Veterans

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to ' United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life'.

That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer
understand it.

The Fire King and Queen Hit Again

How do they get this all done while I am hiding at work?? Bev worked all day outside and as soon as Den got in he jumped on the Kubota and went to work too. Notice the disc on the back of the tractor. One garden spot is done and ready for potatoes. The other main garden is still a little too wet.
Beverly was having a small controlled burn

Just a few branches from the yard, not even the tip of the iceberg

Kubota King pushing the logs on

Today is Marcy's birthday. Andrew is hiding. Marcy is the one who takes the great pictures, packs my lunch, cares for my youngest grandson, grows the garden, cans the food...Marcy is the matriarch of the farm.

Man And Fire

... have been companions for hundreds of years. Man uses fire to cook, to warm himself and also to see who can have the biggest blazing pile of burning.

My Granny Pruett used to say you could judge a man by how well his fire burns. Was this a dating requirement? A measurement to see who was most worthy?

Now compare to my sister's burning style. She always has small piles with good burning and safety techniques. She always has a fire under control.

This has been the only battle. Bev has a nice pile going and along comes Den and piled huge trees on top of her controlled burning. He is grinning and she is mouthing!

But the cleaning goes on.

Chicken Cat

What sort of title is that???

A sign about chicken

Cat communication

I'm speechless today.

Manic Monday

How is the world did the search engines figure out I needed Viagra??? Also some one is looking for me and that I need to lose weight. Get healthy, get fit, get thin, get laid. All these suggestions are in my inbox. How do they know me so well? Almost forgot about the seventeen messages I have received about being a beneficiary of some unknown lost relative. I don't open them, but I do laugh. Hey, adjust your clues...I use none of this stuff, never asked about it and don't want it. It keeps slipping through. That's okay because when I delete them I get the same joy I feel when I clean the house.

Also had a post that I wanted to post today but it came in under yesterday's post. Anyone have any ideas how to move your post to a different day? If you want to see that one, it is between Naked Muppet In A Basket and My Friend Sarah.

Not such a hot post today but it's Monday, what can I say?

Naked Muppet In A Basket

Now how's that for decorating?
*
Had this huge basket I bought many, many years ago. It has lived through several purposes.
*
You guessed it, Bev was here and we worked on the guest bedroom. Chest in place, bed in place, closet empty, and basket on top of chest.
*
Bev, God bless her, thinks I can paint so she gathered all things the same color and placed them together.
*
Let's see we have a pink dresser, a pink Charme, a dark seascape and a naked muppet in the basket with her behind hidden. Like I said, God love her, she likes my paintings and calls them art!

But mostly I just lay around

My Friend Sarah

Sarah is running a marathon today. She lives in United Kingdom.

I have met her through blogging and have been very inspired by her life and actions.

Just thought you might want to pop by and give this great gal a few words of encouragement.
I am honored to have met her and am as proud of her accomplishments as if they were my own.
Remember, Sarah, it does not matter where you place. What matters is that you run!!
