Lots of Skies For Skywatch

Coming home from work

I spied this wonderful cloud bank

This is about 4:30Pm

The sun was trying its best to peek through

Driving and shooting clouds out the window is about as safe as talking on a cell phone.

I think it was worth it!

Trailer Loading For The First Time

Magic Man is what last night was all about. He is going to be trained to ride, when Magic returns I will have three horses I never have time to ride. I am a horse lover but not a cow girl. Magic was a surprise from my Haflinger mare, thus the name. I have taken a halter on and off, can get him to go any where, but no ground work. I have no horse trailer so I have never trained him to load. Last night was his first load.

It went rather well, I think. Samantha, Sam, my trainer, my farrier, my friend, got him to load right up with no problem at all.
I was so excited I did not get many pictures. Sam is starting college next week and shall be busy but she will find time to train. Sam trained Knot for me last year and did a great job, I can climb under him and over him with out Knot batting an eye.
After Sam gets all my horses trained, she is training me how to ride!

I Must Have A Camera Like Lisa's

The full moon was amazingly beautiful with the clouds around it. I carefully set my camera for night shots. I tried to hold it still, I really did, I even propped my arms on the car to hold it steady. Alas, no luck. This blob of ectoplasm looking stuff in my full moon shot.
Lisa at Laughing Orca Ranch has an amazing camera and she has taken moon shots. By no stretch of the imagination does my shot look like a moon. On the other hand, Lisa's is fantastic.
You can kinda see in this one, the photo possibilities but again I did not get it right.

Maybe this would make a wonderful modern art collection but I would have preferred it to look like a moon.
Help, Lisa, send me your camera info!

Looking Over Shit...

To see the beauty.

...maybe I should have said stuff but I think the word will have to stay.

You may find beauty anywhere and under anything...you just have to look.

Equine Time

Everyone was corralled so Magic Man could leave with the trainer today.
I did not stand a chance, they all wanted my attention.

As you can see, I can never just work with one horse.

Everyone is working to get closer.

My baby doll, Charme, my only mare.

Knot head

Here comes Mom, let's see if she has a treat.

This was one of the main reasons I built the round pen, I can have one inside and may have a chance to work with that one and not be bothered by all.
I love it!

Aaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy!

It was a Monday more than any other Monday has been for a while. It was check day for the retired so it was busy. Many people were there when I arrived which is always about fifteen minutes early.

I even asked one person, why are you here so early? You weren't open Saturday and Sunday. Yes, we were open Saturday, not long enough for me!

In addition to my required duties, I have handed out mail, filled out money orders, addressed envelopes and wrapped packages. I try to be nice and helpful but today I wanted to scream, just let me put the mail in the boxes first!!!

Got the guys off the camp this morning. Dalton and Andrew have been together all week here and now off to camp. I must be getting old because two twelve-year-old boys is too much for me anymore. I remember when the girls were young we would have bunking parties with the whole class(girls only) several times a year. I seemed to fair better then than now.

I supposed I have griped enough. Hope your evening is good.

My Ghost Story

In my youth, I had a friend who came every summer to stay with her aunt. We were neighbors and Debbie was about my age so it was only natural to be friends. We swapped nights about and spend many hours at each others homes.

The last summer we were in our early teens. The home where she was staying had two bedrooms with a bath in the hall. Off one bedroom was the living room and off the other was the kitchen. You could travel a circle and cover all the house except the wash room and den.

Deb's uncle was quite a cut up and always like to tease us and scare us. Knowing this, everyone was in a camper playing cards so we locked them in while we went to take our baths. It was a hasp lock and we put a large stick through so it would be difficult to get out.

As we were dressing, we heard some one walk in and stop at the door, we could see the shadow under the door, two legs and we could hear breathing. Just knowing that it was probably Dub, we whispered and made a plan to jump out and each circle a different way to catch him at his tricks. We jerked the door open and ran the circle...no one!

We looked and looked and decided to check the camper and our makeshift lock.

The stick was still in place and they were all still playing cards!!!!
