a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Hope

is what this sky says to me.

I have been talking to my computer for days if you are wondering why I haven't been by to visit.  It decided to go loopy on me.  It decided to freeze,  would not move no matter what I promised.  I would ask it to do one small task and then would lay down in the floor, hoping that it would complete that task when I was not looking.

Three evenings I have laid in this floor, trying to convince my computer to cooperate.  I guess I finally  stroked enough keys to make it happy.  My desktop is active, my picture is back, my email is working, and I can post without waiting for hours.  If my answers to mail seem clipped, they were.  I would type one  l-e-t-t-e- r at a time as I waited for the words to appear.   It was very difficult to not rip this thing out by all its cords and jump up and down on it repeatedly.

I have discovered I have more patience than I realized.  Thank God for that, I really could not afford another computer.

Now the storms are moving in and I shall unplug to avoid the lightening strikes and pray you are all safe tonight.

Whatever you did, you worked your magic on it. maybe it was your charm that did it or your wonderful smile.

I am not good at patience. CH can verify that after being locked in a vehicle with me for two days coming home from Florida. Why do I travel? Glad your puter is up and running again :) I love your Iris in the previous post. I wish ours would show their happy faces.

Patience is good, not that I have any ;-)

Stay safe, Gail. The weather map looks awful.

Ah yes - had that happen too often, and I'm not always patient. I discovered that it happens sometimes because the computer had 'decided' something needs updating. Sometimes the operating system, or the virus program - a long update and very little RAM can make things seem to come to a complete halt. I do update now only when I want to - not automatic. ATB!

Gee, what page is that on to help fix computers? I've been flipping through my, "Computers for Dummies" and I didn't see any mention of "lying on the floor until it fixes itself". Was this in your manual or something? Maybe you have an Apple. I have a Dell. Hmmm.....

Stay safe, my friend. Me? I am TERRIFIED of storms, particularly lightening storms.

Gee Gail, I just watched the news and do hope all those nasty storms pass you by. Yikes the destruction we are seeing in Mississippi..very scarey. Hang in there.

Hi, Gail!
Glad your nutty computer has decided to behave. I hope the storms are mild, providing a welcome drop of rain and no more.
