a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Shoes or Feet

for Poetry Jam

I got my boots
I got my sandals
I love bare feet
If I have ta ramble

I reconnect with nature
From all around
Draw power
When bare feet meet the ground

I don't understand it
I don't ask why
My soles smile
As I watch the sky

The power courses
From soles to head
Renews my soul
Leaving peaceful retread

Don't need high heel shoes
Or thousand dollar boots
I'm styling in the bare
Keeping in touch with my roots

I am definitely with you, Gail. In summer, there is nothing more comfortable than going barefoot. So very pleasant for the feet. Your poem made me yearn for summer.

I remember the days of barefeet and how the first day of summer vacation was pretty ticklish and pricklish on the soles - until they toughened up. Then you could practically walk on hot coals by the end of the summer.

I enjoyed the carefree atmosphere of your poem, Gail. Funny how bare feet can make us feel free.

I equally enjoy a good stroll barefoot, but alas the winter season holds me down from doing so, less I want to earn a black foot from frost bite. Great fond memories of walking the soft and warm sands of the beach rolled into my head when I read this. Thank you for sharing this.

one in one with nature - when the souls of your feet are happy in nature, the feeling transforms your entire body - your very soul connects with Mother Earth. "Nuff said". :)

me to me to me to... i have loved barefeet since the day i was born and hated shoes.. i do wear them but only when forced to... every time daddy treated a cut or pulled out a splinter he would tell me if i wore my shoes this would not happen. which was not true. when i was 12, i had on my shoes and stepped on a nail in a board, the nail held the board to my foot so i could not walk, i sent my brother for daddy and he came and put his foot on the board and i pulled my foot off. i still feel that pain. and i did have on shoes

Great poem! It is nice when I can go barefoot because that means it's summer! It takes me feet a while to get toughened up though!

I'm barefoot most of the time, at least in the house, all but winter. For some reason my toes just freeze!

Bare feet do make one feel connected to the earth. One can forget how good it feels.

Bare feet in warm mud is the best feeling of all when summer comes.

It's too cold here to walk around in bare feet - well, maybe 3 days of the year...

A dancing, frolicking poem. I enjoyed it! I too am a barefoot girl, but I can't indulge it every day!

Going barefoot keeps us grounded in the here and now! We feel the energy flow from mother earth to us through the soles of our feet!

If I could go barefoot at work, I would!!
