a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

X, Y, and Z

Letters degrade into literary Xerosis
Skies fade to Yellow
As I finish
Not with a Zing
but with a dull thud.
BaZinga!!

To YoU

I've been struggling to reach the sun.
I may be rising above Under now,
May we always have color
and an abundance of wishes.
Thank you, Faithful Readers.

A Little Bird Told Me

And that's how the story began.
There was quite a conversation but I don't speak Blue Jay.

Q, R, and S

Quickly but not quietly they competed.
The Starter pistol fired again and again.
Stop watches Started and Stopped as they Raced.
Hurdles were conQuered.
Batons carried.
Staying in their lane
they gave it their all
unQuestionably
Spiritually
and physically.

Sadness came.  This may be the last Track meet I see with Andrew as a Senior.  It will be the last I see many of these competitors.  Hopefully they take the Track lessons with them...Run in your own lane, overcome hurdles with grace, follow the rules, save a little extra for the sprint and always, always give it your best Spiritually and physically.

To all Seniors everywhere, Congratulations.

For A to Z Challenge.

Old Enough

to know better,
young enough not to care.

Old enough to vote and fight
Old enough to drink and swear
Old enough to smoke
but can't...I lose things...
I put them where??

Old is an Odious word
The alternative is not my choice
I just hitch up my stretchy pants
and find reason to rejoice.

O
for
ABC Challenge

Natives and Mother Nature

Arkansas wild flower
but I could be wrong...I'm a little Nuts.
The Spicebush Swallowtail Butterfly (tell me if I'm wrong) is already worn out.  The spots are faded, almost invisible.   These butterflies are much smaller this year.  Scary!
A bumble bee gathers pollen.
With a shortage of pollinators this year.
we must trust Mother Nature has it all under control.

Much Ado About Nothing

The garden grows.

Much like Shakespeare's play a garden can be a comedy.

The plants have survived my treatment and the seeds have grown well.  A good salad Moves closer to the kitchen with lettuce, radishes and onions. The cold weather plants thrive but seem to be sitting still.

Time to plant Melons and 'Maters.  Nothing tastes better than home grown.

Life On A Log With Liquid...L

Little creatures often go unnoticed,
The Carpenter Ant searches for the Lost
as the Granddaddy Long Legs wonders how he got so wet.

All Life is precious.
Enjoy the Little things.

Kharma A K Word

If my circumstances reflect my actions I need to become much Kinder.  In the last two months my Canon died and required 44 emails, almost two months, two shipments and numerous calls to have warranty repair completed.  Andrew's truck motor has blown (Ford).  My printer doesn't work (Canon).  My computer (Alien-Dell) blue screened. Andrew's phone (Apple iPhone 6S Plus) has stopped working two days after unconditional return (Verizon), warranty does not cover it since there is a scratch on it and insurance has a hundred fifty copay.  I would not ask me for a recommendation on any of these brands nor on their company's customer service.  I would not be KIND.

On the brighter side of K there are Klingon, my favorite, Worf
Koi
and my Ki-Anne.

Inconsistency

"In The Beginning", in my opinion, is one of the best opening lines of all times.  I shall borrow it today...In the beginning I signed up for A to Z Challenge then that insecure person I TRY to keep hidden showed up again.  She (crazy bitch) took my name off the list.

Today I try to catch up, make a come back, a turn around...all those things you do after a total fall into a stew of apathy, banality, complacency, detachment, emotionlessness, futility, grouchiness, halfheartedness and insensitivity well seasoned with a big dash of  jack-assed-ness (taking me from A to J in one post).

May the waters be clear
and my thoughts become focused.
Many thanks.

Jumping Into Spring

with all feet in our neck of the woods.
Flexing those winter slow muscles,
joyfully playing in the dirt,
and tracking down jobs.
 Things are going swimmingly
even with all the sh**.
