I Am Not Cured!

On the way to the foot ball game Saturday we had to stop at Wal Mart. A humane society was there having an adoption event.

I had to look! I loved all four dogs there and found it very hard to walk away. You know I have too many dogs as it is and I am fostering Gypsy for adoption. I looked into some yellow eyes of a spotted dog and my heart skipped a beat!!! Then I looked into the next carrier and my lands, it did again. Thank goodness the two puppies were sleeping or I would have had a runaway.

I do not understand the blatant irresponsibility shown by folks that have no more respect for an animal than to drop them off or breed them non selectively.

If I had the funds I would fill this whole farm with dogs that have never known love or the kiss of a child.

I even think my husband is getting use to me being dog crazy. He said he liked the first one the best and I say ohhhhh...and pulled my breaking heart away, kicking and screaming inside...but I did walk away.

I was proud of me and yet so ashamed.

Thank You, Thank You Very Much!

Well, I missed my one year blog anniversary At The Farm, September eight. I cannot believe it has been one year...one amazing adventure of a year.

You have followed me through the disaster of a tornado and an devastating ice storm. You have listened to me groan and bemoan what ever present condition I was griping about.
You have celebrated life changes and mourned life losses with me.

You have endured my sick sense of humor, smiled, cried and laughed with me not at me.

You are my friends and have demonstrated that friendship with sound advice, solid support and even virtual hugs when I needed them.
To all of you who have kept me going, I thank you. This blog would have died without you.

Gypsy Rose Lee...Eat Your Heart Out

This was the sky that greeted the morning of my new adventure. I thought this is a good sky and this shall be a good day. I had no idea by noon of this same day, I would have a four-legged creature trying to steal my heart.
I guess my spirit guides, or guardian angels, or the Voice Of God made me call ICARE. You know I have been in dog throws lately and was not sure why...At The Farm are seven dogs. I suppose I had not interpreted the message correctly.

Gypsy Rose Lee was famous for her enticing dance and I can see why Gypsy was named after this famous lady. Gypsy moves to her own music, bringing your excitement to such a level you can not resist giving her hugs and kisses. I have heard the original Gypsy Rose Lee had that same talent.
I am not yanking your chain, this lady is adorable. If I had not made a pledge to work with her for adoption, she would be the eighth dog here. I keep telling myself, I can't keep them all and my job is to move to the next pup who needs that extra touch and attention to begin the rest of their life as an integral part of some other family.
I had to take Gypsy to get spayed and hubby to get his stitches out. Sure glad I did not mess that up. Hubby would not have liked that crate!
Gypsy is the new owner of tennis balls, a wide red collar, a safety harness, and a black and red leash to match. I am working on her heeling but it will take a few days and the harness will make it more comfortable for her.
Wish me luck, wish Gypsy luck, so I can move on to the next dog and make the world of neglected abandoned dogs a little smaller.
