Dreaming

Through The Looking Glass
Slippers into The Dome
Wishing they were ruby
(There's no place like home)

If I had The Ruby Ring
I'd twist my wish into play
Back through the wardrobe
To visit Narnia today

"Between the Dawn of Faerie
And the Dominion of Men"
I keep a watch for Moby Dick
And my Regulator "friends"

In my dreams I control
The direction and the start
In my dreams the tin man
Always had a heart

Aslan rules in Mordar
Along with Gandalf The Gray
My lion is filled with courage
And the bad guys stay away

Ole Yeller never dies
Lassie always saves the day
On my Prince Edward Island
Matthew lives today
Blanket Moss growing in water.  Staying Weird for Imaginary Garden With Real Toads  and letting Josie know at Two Shoes In Texas that there is order in my chaos.

Gratefulness and Two Shoes in Texas...

Six Sentences with Two Shoes

During this unusual winter I am grateful for many things I had taken for granted.

I am grateful for indoor plumbing, power, fuel and food and am also grateful that I know how to make do. I am grateful for friends and family.

I mention indoor plumbing twice because I remember the out houses, hauling water, breaking ice and freezing my buns while the wind made the wall paper move.  Nothing colder than an outhouse on a winter's day with your behind bare.

Wishing you warmth and blue skies...and indoor plumbing!

Six Sentence Story for Two Shoes

She told no one she was walking the same path she had traveled with her father while he talked of cave safety and the history of it.  Today she walked alone returning to the massive flat mouthed cave that used to shelter Native Americans.

Reaching the entrance she remembered to look at the ceiling to see if there were fresh rock falls and used her light sparingly even though she had another.  During her previous visit she had spotted the entrance of another room but her father pointed out some fallen rock and said it was not safe to go further.

Reaching the opening in the back she crawled deeper as her flashlight illuminated drawings on the wall possibly not seen for hundreds or thousands of years.  Admiring the art and traveling farther than she had gone before the cave rumbled dropping rocks behind her and she knew she was never going home.

Two Shoes In Texas...Six Sentences

I can't imagine the fear that possessed this little dog when she was removed from her owner's home where she had always lived.  Almost one hundred dogs were rescued because the owner's health was not good. The dogs had been well cared for and loved.

Trying to cover two different challenges was a little difficult but lots of fun.  Fifty-words in Six Sentences using the prompt "three".   I did it!!!

Two Shoes in Texas has part of the challenge and I combined it with the Friday Flash 55 challenge.
In the beginning
A calf frolicked
And made us laugh.
Training her to milk
We didn't turn back.
Life continued
No milk came
while wondering
what was to blame.
We thought
and thought some more.
We needed something
for milk to pour.
In comes the bull
He moos lovingly
Nine months later
There were three.

White Lies or Omission? Not For The Weak!

We all share parts of our life but no one shares it all.  Is that presenting a false front or just an omission of facts that different people would not understand.  Do we consider these little white lies?

Life in different in the country.  Things that happen may be frowned upon but that's the way it is around here. We protect our livestock (cattle and chickens) which is our food source and our money.

We don't get many drive by shootings but we do protect and make it safer for our animals and us.

and are pretty set on ending this.

and the team jumps in to help.

Two Shoes In Texas Tuesday #37 Broken words

Dancing wildly to drums
Flower haired girls
Feigned promise

Pit fires glowed
The circle tightened
Spear shafts joined the rhythm

Feasting on broken words
Long Pig's hope
Drifted away with the smoke

Easy Wind For Two Shoes in Texas

The leaf floated
Into my sight
Landing easyily
On my shovel

In awe of the colors
The size
The wind's delivery
I stopped

Simply to enjoy
Nature's art
To wonder and wish
I could paint that beautifully

The brush pile grows
On the west side
Lilacs are uncovered
Snowballs no longer hide

We're needing rain
To make green again

Beneath the soil
The spring bulbs
Are doing rehab.
