Jake's free horse, Johnny, is thrivingl. Johnny's hooves have been trimmed and he did very well. Have found out the lineage is Thoroughbred and Paint. Although a stallion, Johnny demonstrates no bad characterisics.
They are blending into a wonderful team.
My walls are empty, my paintings are displayed in the shop. Bev oohs and ahhs, and calls it art. I call it canvas and paint. The afternoon was spent putting pieces of shelving units together and creating display areas out of the pieces that fit nothing. Progress is being made...thanks to Bev. We hope to open for a sale the week of City Wide Yard Sale. As we thin generations of accumulated STUFF, we will work toward making the shop what Toni has planned...we really don't know what that will be yet.
Although there is no school today, Andrew has foot ball practice so I am up early to wake the men in time to go. They had their first game this past week...and won. I was unable to go...working and it was a two hour drive. According to Andrew, and he assures me the coaches said it first, if he had not intercepted, we would have lost the game.
The weather has taken a turn here. The leaves are falling, either from drought or because it's time. I had windows open, the first time in a very long time and I was looking for an afghan!!! It is nice to be cool instead of too hot.
The horses and cows are grazing contently. Although we have been dry, we have had enough moisture to maintain the pastures. Many farmers have had no second cutting of hay this year...and we are lucky for the first. Some states have no grass at all with livestock starving.
I have no idea what's on my plate for today. Whatever it is, I hope I do it well and with an open heart.
