Time To Break The Garden

You may not have heard of "breakin'" a garden but I believe we use that term because a breaking plow is first used.
Then the cultivator is used to turn old crops under and feed the ground for the next planting.
Back and forth, until the clods of earth are leveled.
This was the first plowing and the rain came just right to soak into the earth.  The horses have used it for a rolling dirt bath and we will have to plow one more time before we plant.
Every one was there to help.
