A Few Years Ago

I  found a wonderful blog called Going Gently.  I was immediately hooked!  Another country, another lifestyle, a blogger with humor, kindness, adventures and animals.

John pulled me in with his village flower show and his colorful descriptions of his neighbors in the small village of Trelawnlyd,  He and The Prof have dogs and one cat and other animals, too. I'm a sucker for dogs!

You never know what the subject will be but he is a straight-shooting tell it like it is man with a heart the size of Alaska or maybe bigger.  You will laugh.  You will cry.  You will never be bored.

His current dream is to reach 1000 followers.  He's close.  If you've never been by to visit, drop in, snoop around and follow if you so desire.  You will not be disappointed.

Max And The Cat

Midsummer Night's Melancholy by Michael Sowa
The dog watching from across the alley only wanted to play
but the cat, being a cat, kept himself turned away
window to window Max took the leap
safely landing on his feet
but the uppity cat just ran away

Bumming With Bonnie...

Bonnie is a busy girl.
She loves potting my plants for me.
Brings them right to the back door.
She observes the cats
and has made a new best friend.
Bonnie is very curious.
She brings us gifts of turtles,
water lily pots,
and large logs
all arranged nicely by the back door.
She plays well with others.
Bonnie never passes a water hole
without enjoying the beauty of it.
Bonnie will be six months old soon.
I fear we have much growing to do.

October for Poetry Jam

October
The bull can breathe fire
Shadows lengthen
Fruit weeps for spring
We ponder
About life's web
And other things

Thursday's Things In A Row

It's Thursday and time to visit Pat
and show our rows of this and that.

Loofah Sponges are fun to use.
Did you know they grow in rows, too?
All these rows are for Pat.
She has a house.
Now she needs a cat.
Rows of whiskers
piles of hair
but with eyes like this
who would care?
A very special treat for Pat today.
A shed snake skin "shot" where it lay.
Enjoy!

Queen of High Places

TP, Daddy's dog, always heads for high ground.
I believe it is for a better view of things.
TP is supposed to be a Bichon Frise.
She loves being outside.
Always resting beside those who are working.
Do not feel sorry for her condition.
She hunts with the pack and is the true farm dog.
We clip her matted hair and keep her free from parasites.
Her personal job is taking care of the cats.
She does it very well.
We like to think, in her, a part of Daddy is still with us.

How Deep?

This doesn't seem like much if you are from a snow state, but here, in Arkansas, this is a lot of snow!  The official measurement was twelve inches.
The animals seem to love it.
Orange has to stays in tracks
because it over cat deep.
