How I Spent My Halloween...WARNING: GROSS ALERT

I found a friend
 While I was deconstructing
A floor within the lodge.
We began with a game of chess
Then we completed a decoupage.
Resting on the pumpkin
He overcame his fear of spiders.
We discussed the possibilities
of both becoming writers.
Caffeine was shared cuz
He needed some hydration
The conversation turned
To the state of our nation.
We couldn't decide who to blame
He revealed Icarus was his name
We signed a declaration
With the "We The People" pen
We shared a meal of junk food
and conversation picked up again.
When I offered him a cigarette
He clammed up...
"Tobacco kills!" he shouted.
Don't ever touch that stuff.

The evening ended as Hubby came to say,
"What the hell are you photographing?
Get that outta my way!"

Goodbye sweet Icarus.
I wish you well.
Next time fly toward the moon
Instead of landing in...well,

This story is true
It's not from the Liar's Tree
I posed this little mouse
I did it gleefully
So I could confirm
What you think of me.

Morals of this story:
We're not always what we seem to be.
Imagination rules
when you have no company.
