MY DEATH
I wanted to be ashes
To fly in the wind
Or flow to the sea
Instead you boxed me
Inviting people to look
That rarely saw me alive
Mouthing empty platitudes
Pretending they cared
In your mourning you believed
"Oh, how natural she looks,"
When I just looked dead
Or like a bad mannequin
That life insurance was
To help you live
Not to paint a public picture of my death
As the possible second wives
Hug you leaving traces of perfume
They do the math of what I may have left
Damn it, if you had listened
Only friends would be here
Saying farewell to my ashes
a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Unplugged At dVerse~Poets Pub
dVerse~Poets Pub has suggested we unplug and discover what we're missing. Most of the time the real world does beat out our virtual lives. Time for us to unplug and enjoy for more reasons than we know.
I took a walk
Through ancient eyes
I'd forgotten to see
The land provides
Rain entices growth
We no longer know
What's safe to eat
Nor how to plant and grow
Every plant has a purposeEvery object has a use
We must unplug
To teach our youth
Listen to Ancient way
Forever tried and true
They knew how to live
With what's in front of you.
