A Halloween challenge for every one to try. Turn those screams to laughter and the scary things will hide.
I think I need a mummy
To help with house hold chores
They are wrapped in rags
So they can dust and more.
Need to wash a floor?
Wet a mummy well
Drag it through the rooms
Better than a mop I hear tell
Don't need a zombie
They make too big a mess
Where the next body part falls
Is anyone's guess
Vampires have a drinking problem
Werewolves always shed
Ghosts go through everything
And the Horseman has no head.
So give me a mummy
With rags of clean white
I'll hand it Pledge
With orders to work all night.
a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

dVerse~Poets Pub The Old House
THE OLD HOUSE
The old house sat without a care
Drops floated on liquid air
The night sky empty except for fog
Held no sound, no monologue
The old house stood strong and fair.
We stood where our ancestors dared
We sang their praises, said a prayer,
And stumbled lost into the bog
The old house sat.
We suddenly became aware
The porch held a rocking chair
The eyes saw not where the feet could slog
We whispered a dialogue
To remind us, Beware!
The old house sat.

For The Love Of My Horses...
Rumors are
We were once wild
Eagerly we watch
And wait
Her touch
Her voice
Makes us safe
Her eyes shed water
In our long manes
What is "goodbye"?

dVerse~Poets Pub "Of Course I Can!"
Callouses and dry hands
Untidy hair
Untidy hair
Work your fingers to the bone
And wonder who cares
Time was a new age
While the cold war
And politics raged
Women trudged
With a smile
Making life worth while
Callouses and dry hands
Untidy hair
Work your fingers to the bone
And wonder who cares.
On her tombstone
Words very clear
"Housewife, Loved and Dear"
"Of course I can" killed her
