The One I Missed

Along the edge of the Top Pond the dragonfly gave me time to run back to the Gator for the camera. It flew just as I began to focus on the Button Willow along the water's edge where it rested.

I thought, One I will delete. Oh, the surprise I found when I looked at this picture.  The distortion in the upper right is the dragonfly and makes it a true keeper.  There is sometimes art in your mistakes.

I Am The Presumptive Nominee

for chief cook and bottle washer.  It is presumed I will wash dishes, do laundry, and clean home with no assistance.
It is nice to be so important.
Not so nice that all the other candidates dropped out.

The Hands That Rock Our World...

A picture taken by accident is my inspiration.  This is my oldest sister's hand, while working in the garden.  First a child, then a teacher and now retired.  She is our teacher, our matriarch and our treasure.  Marcy's hands hold the camera.
It is these hands that preserve our food,
and shell the peas.
These hands spoil my grandchildren,
encourage them to explore,
and make them smile.
These hands hold a dragonfly
until its wings dry from the rain.

They nurture us,
and every creature here...
Marcy's hands.

The Dragonflies Have Landed

along with every bug known to man
and some that are not known.
It is a really great year for biting bugs too.
The deer and horse flies are attacking...
humans.
Where did Spring go?

Water World

I stopped to admire the dragon fly
and the cool, clear water.

Then he decided to an eye on me.

Father's Day Fishing

Hey, one day without lots of work!!! I lost count of the fish we caught but we kept every one. We had bass and very large sun perch. It was fun although it was hot. We have many stocked fish ponds but rarely take the time to enjoy them.

Den and Marcy are quite the devoted fisher people. I, on the other hand, was taking pictures as I fished. Sometimes this is difficult to do both proficiently.

The Dragon Flys were out in all their glory. I tried to catch them in mid flight but I am not quick enough.

You can see the refections in the water behind the dragon flies.

The Button Willows were starting to bloom.

Some one is after my Dr Pepper.

It was so hot, the sweat dripped and I was blinded. I am surprised I did not fall in. We called it quits about 11Am and headed to the house.

I did not forget it was Father's Day and cooked Den two of his favorite dishes...pineapple upside down cake and beef brisket. He is now happily napping in his recliner with a full stomach.
