Fear
In the far reaches
Of Kingdom Fae
Along the edges hidden
Is where danger lays
Unnamed monsters
Lurk Unseen
Stay in the sun's light
Walk the moon's beam
Life is as dreams
The things we dread
The things we often fear

The Moon
The moon
Beckons
She calls me
To follow
Across
The moonlit night
She holds her lantern high
And cries follow
Beneath the moon lit sky

Random Thoughts
I totally dislike the Geico commercial with Old McDonald! The logical way for Old McDonald to spell cow would be E-I-E-I-O not c-o-w-e-i-e-i-o. Remember the line "..and on that farm he had a cow, E-I-E-I-O"
Spelling Bee may have a cute "Dagnabbit" in it but it doesn't make me happy. Maybe the Spock in me coming out.
We go soon to have Andrew's broken foot checked. Hopefully he will be running and dancing soon.
We had ice in the water buckets Wednesday morning so fall is leaving us (unintended pun).

Friday
Every creature is looking for food
Every creature is looking for water.
Even the moon is looking strange
in these dry hot times.

Wondering...
Do I talk about how the fog enveloped the valley on my drive to work yesterday, making it look prehistoric or about how beautiful the moon was before full darkness?
Shall I talk of wandering the farm and finding a perfect knife or tell of finding this perfect arrowhead in my yard?
Do I speak of the beauty in the ordinary things around me, that sometimes go unnoticed until the light is right?
Do I share a tale of the old homestead and the memories of my ancestor's and my life here?

I leave you with these questions...

Yesterday's Moon
still hung in the sky and greeted the morning sun. I seldom see this but it always amazes me. Maybe it's nothing special but it felt special. I did not question it but simply enjoyed it.
The same moon last night showed through the Mulberry tree that I used for support. I have neither the proper camera, tripod or intelligence to take a fantastic moon picture but this night the joy was in the trying, not the end result.
Once again, I have awakened before four AM. The weather has cooled and so the windows are open, letting the night air in. I wake with a stuffed nose and try Granny's old trick of Vick's. I smell it and breathe better but not well enough to return to sleep. So here I am again, sharing the thoughts ricocheting in my brain in the morning hours.
After a house full of people yesterday that left one by one, I welcomed the quiet. Papa and the boys left for the demolition derby. As much as I love to see vehicles crash violently into one other, get turned over with cars smoking and people crawling out of said cars, running to safety, I declined the invitation and stayed home.
I welcomed the quiet and spent it reading a wonderful book by Greg Iles, one of my favorite new authors. The house smelled of Pinesol from the day's cleaning and there were no chores that called my name. I got lost in Pen Cage's adventure and left this world behind, if only for a little while.
Once again in the early predawn, the roosters begin to greet the day and I think of dumplings and fried chicken and dressing...they don't crow after they become these dishes.

Teedifus
The word means nothing. It was a word verification and I like the sound of it so here it is, teedifus, teedifus, doesn't it sound magical?
How creative do you expect me to be? I woke early and tried to capture the moon for you. I shall need a better camera or a bigger net because I was not very successful.
The sounds were as beautiful as the sight. The stillness of the night before the roosters began their attack on the day is my favorite time. I hear the frogs singing for rain. In the distance, a tiny hoot owl was serenading the darkness. I could also hear the freshly released Cicadas playing their violins. The stillness of the night should last longer.
I took many shots and I would call none of them successful but here are my attempts at capturing the moon for you.
I played with auto adjust which is the extent of my photo editing talent. If I were a ghost watcher, I might wonder about the orbs but it was probably hundreds of biting mosquitoes circling because they smelled meat.
It could have been my many ancestors. I can hear them now.
What the hell is she doin'?
Tryin' to take a picture, what does it look like she's doin'?
Well, she's crazy, there's no light, her camera's not good enough, why would she try?
Stubborn runs on your side of the family...I think stupid does too! Didn't get that from my side!
I was enjoying it more when they weren't talking.

Sharing The Beauty...
Monday morning sunrise with the moon, a jet, and sparkles.
Tuesday afternoon, still snow covered
Snow covered water garden and local watering hole
Snow every direction I look.

I See The Moon...
And the moon sees me.
God bless the moon
And God bless me.
The photo taking fool is at it again.
I saw the moon when I started to work.
I snapped pictures all the way!
