Sun Rise Sun Set, Trees, Festivals...

I wanted to do all the prompts
But life got in the way
I've been really swamped
And almost lost my way

I wanted to create Shakespeare style
I wanted sunset words to sing
I thought of trees for a while
But on paper I couldn't do a thing.

So I gathered pictures
Of trees and sunsets
Played within strictures
I haven't got it yet

So I combined trees and sunsets but no festival this time
Shakespeare style with less with thirty-five lines

Monday Afternoon....

and I'm just now posting!  What in the world is wrong with me?  Wellll, hold onto your hats 'cause this is really scary.  I have no idea what's happened.
I've been deep cleaning for three days!
I have cleaners and rags to prove it.
I have an empty sink which is a rarity with a teenager and a man in the house.  This handy dandy item from Marcy helps you use those tiny slivers of hand soap.  Place in a jar, add water, instant liquid soap.  No molds to shape the soap, no recipes, no cooking in a big black kettle over an open fire.  Just soap and water with a dispenser.  Easy Peasy!
It's that time of year that I TRY to clean/oil the wooden walls. I have been behind on jobs just because of life in general or I've been lazy, you choose.  For every one thing you move it requires moving something else.  Easel, paints and play canvas are not supposedto be here!  Back to the craft room with you.
I did get outside once to view sunrise through the colorful trees.  I believe fall is here.  I have to get back to work.  Got another room to paint. Alignment for Blogger is not cooperating.  Can't be lolly gagging around.
...miles to go before I sleep.

Where I've Been...

Catching ants
enjoying hugs
lounging
enjoying the bond between a boy and his horse
watching things grow
and viewing the sunrise.
The work will wait.

Shootin'...

the pink of the beginning sunrise,
the sun as it peeks over the horizon,
the neighbor's horses
feeling their oats,
and the bite of a winter morning.

Sunrise, Shadows, And A Small Chance of Rain With Earthquakes

As I headed to work, I saw beautiful skies and hoped they held some rain for us.  Our ground is dry, the gravel roads are dusty, and the pastures are crying out for a drink.
As the fog was burned away with the rising sun, I knew a small chance was all we had.  I enjoyed the beauty of the sunrise while I drove and tried to remember the feel of rain.

Our pear tree is blooming for the second time this year.  My sister, Beverly mentioned, she had read that when things bloomed out of season, it indicated an earthquake was coming!  I scoffed.

The ninth, tenth and the eleventh, Arkansas had three earthquakes. Some people felt it here, others did not.  The 9th was 3, the 10th was 3 and the 11th was 3.6.  May be something to blooming out of season after all.

Attitude of Gratitude

I think someone slapped me on the way out this morning...slapped me and made me look closely at the beauty.  This morning, I realized how lucky I really am as a white tail deer stood in the road and looked at me.  Was even luckier when I saw this sunrise in the foggy field.
It was almost a prehistoric scene or the way I imagined one might look.  No signs of civilization, only the fog softy wrapping the land like a baby in mamma's hand pieced quilt.  Many people are unable to view this every morning and it hit me how truly blessed I am.
Then I saw this magnificent Sparrow Hawk, I think, and he waited for me as if he knew I wanted a picture.
The hawk became a little nervous, leaving his tree to light on this fence post...how amazing in that?

This appreciation could have something to do with the latest issue of MaryJanesFarm Magazine.  This issue was based on an attitude of gratitude with many guest writers.  The magazine is amazing.

It really made me think.  We have a home, humble as it may be,  paid for.  We own land, which is something many people may never get to experience. My husband and I have jobs while many do not. We have our health, a little worn, but we are still relatively healthy.  We have two wonderful daughters of which we are very proud and three fantastic grandsons.  We have cattle and horses...our dream came true. We have an extended family that works well together.

I never thought I would say this, but I am glad I was slapped this morning, made me wake up and smell the coffee, so to speak.

Last but not least, I am grateful for all my loyal followers!  I have almost reached two hundred and I am delighted!  Thank you!

Sunrise In Northcentral Arkansas

on Wednesday

I thought the blurred one was just as lovely.

The hay is reassuring because it looks like we will need it all.

Every where is ice.

Ice and snow, with promise of more.

and the cardinals decorate the trees like Christmas ornaments.
