Freaky Nature Or Goodly Lessons?

A tree bent by nature will now grow this way.
Bending but not breaking as many of us have experienced in life.
Look at those colors!
Orange, green, white, gray and brown...
They all seem to be coexisting without problems.
Signs of the Templar Knights?
An ancient language?
Proof of early settlement?
Simply a rock marked by life
yet it remains solid.
Is this a trail tree or merely a tree handicapped in its youth?
It continues to grow even with many difficulties.

Freaky nature or life lessons?

2791

I've always had something to say but never thought I'd write this many posts.  That's a lot of words even for me!
What we did today was important to my peace of mind.
We played in water.
We looked under trees
and up trees
as we played in water.
We drooled with the sheer joy of it all.

Valentine Sunshine And Fudge...

Best ever Valentine's Day.   Thought I would rub in the fact we have sunshine share our wonderful morning.  It is 67 degrees as I write this.  The temps will begin to drop this afternoon as the storm gets closer.

Today we were able to explore forgetting all those neck deep in snow while sending wonderful spring thoughts to those in the heart of this horrible storm.
Sunshine, rocks, trees and dogs were all part of our adventure as the soup and casserole cooked itself at home.
Visiting places I haven't seen in a long time on the back side of the farm.
Guess what I found?
Amazing beautiful rocks
steep hills I refused to ride up
I walked while Hubby drove.
Blue skies promised us spring was close.

The exploring ended as we returned to the valley with a feather, a bone and a bucket of beautiful rocks.  I had not burned lunch which we enjoyed.  Marcy brought us homemade fudge for our valentine.

The wind is picking up as the front is heading our way.  Off to top off the water gardens and enjoy the beautiful weather before we get iced in.

Happy Valentine's Day!  Stay safe and happy.

A Limerick For Poets Pub...

The trees, the bull, the man took a stand
All rooted 'til he stretched out his hand
The bull invited the man to leave
First he thought of climbing a tree
But smartly chosen the man ran.

Trees for dVerse~Poets Pub
Trees can be for Putty Tats
For climbing and shade
This and that

Trees can make a house
They feed us
And can hide a mouse

I love when they sing
On a windy day
Birds rest their wings

Sun Rise Sun Set, Trees, Festivals...

I wanted to do all the prompts
But life got in the way
I've been really swamped
And almost lost my way

I wanted to create Shakespeare style
I wanted sunset words to sing
I thought of trees for a while
But on paper I couldn't do a thing.

So I gathered pictures
Of trees and sunsets
Played within strictures
I haven't got it yet

So I combined trees and sunsets but no festival this time
Shakespeare style with less with thirty-five lines

Roses and Chain Saws...

Roses and skull
Trim and recharge with caffeine
Another way to trim limbs you can't reach.

We cut and piled trees and branches until there was not a dry rag on us which did not take long in this weather.  Five useless trees too close to the house and miscellaneous limbs have joined a growing pile.

As TM rested I did some more digging, testing and digging and had a dry (wet) run before I put things in place permanently.
 I did a water test
as the dogs played.

Walking In The Heat

can be rather dangerous these days. I took my time and enjoyed the scenery and tried not to see all the work waiting to be done.

These are effects from our ice storm last winter but it good to know life is growing out of the destruction. We are getting the few acres around the house cleared. Ten acres down and one hundred plus to go.

We have a few, uh, many brush piles.

These limbs, called hangers, are the most dangerous. If they decide to fall while you are under them, they can even kill you. We do not have the equipment needed to remove these. We will have to wait on Mother Nature and watch out when the wind is blowing.

I am almost to the creek and then I will cool my feet and rest before the last part of my journey home.

I'm Trying To Think...

but I am having trouble. I kinda feel like these

vines and limbs in this tree...I have lost many

things today, just lay them down, and they walk

away. I thought about tying the things I need

daily around my neck but then I could not stand

straight. There went that idea!
