have been a financial, emotional and physical struggle here. On my birthday, November 2014, our youngest daughter was in a car wreck through no fault of hers. The other involved party had no insurance and in a lax moment to save money the daughter did not tick uninsured motorists on her policy trying to save money. Bare bones liability was all she had.
Between doctor's visits and surgeries we kept her and her six year old son here. We shuttled Z back and forth to school the rest of the school year. There was no other option.
We got on each other's nerves, she would have kicked me a few times if she had two good feet, we had crying jags, we had a few fits and pouts and a few items were slammed down strongly but we got through. I will be grateful to have my art sewing room back and Andrew will be glad he can leave his door open again. There are too many things to list of why her father and I are glad but we are very grateful. All of us thought this day might never come. Praise God, it did.
After breaking her talus bone in her foot and a collective two weeks in the hospital, nine surgeries later and an extreme bout of infection, she is limping with out a walker, no wheel chair and no cane. Hallelujah!
We have found a inexpensive car to replace her lost one. They placed her on "medical leave" so she still has a job to return to and things are looking rosier for all concerned. She is temporarily in her home and the stress level for all of us has dropped about 99%.
There are a few wrinkles to iron out but there are celebrations, too. After this Monday which includes a trip to Z's specialist for his ears and a round of stops to insurance, tax office, and revenue office we can officially kick her out and she will be legal to drive...and hopefully be able to work.
We were all blessed but we didn't realize it while squeezed in the middle of all the distress generated by such a situation. I do know these setbacks were far better than planning a funeral.
I think we're all gonna enjoy this change.
Donations of cash and Valium can be sent to...teasing!
Update to update: She is home again for Z's appointment tomorrow (I had that wrong!). Her foot is still infected. Although she can walk, she has other issues that have arisen. Insurance says six days were too long for her last admission and has refused to pay the bill...said it could have been done in four days! Work wants her at 100 percent when she returns.
Lord, please bless us some more soon. Amen.
a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

This N That
We are the Red Cross
the soup kitchen
and transport
One can't walk
one's heating aching joints
the other shuts down
Those still standing
try to make it better
hoping "Normal"
is closer than it was
We've had freezing rain and cold temps but nothing we couldn't deal with (and I'm frantically searching my mind how to NOT end this sentence with a preposition. Some lessons never leave. I guess it's okay now. I hear people saying "Want to go with?" With what??? Don't leave me hanging.)
The after care and day care station is still open. A visit later today to see how the skin grafts are taking. I'm glad we can help but we are tired. It is straining on the pocket book and every one's patience. No one can help the situation. We must muddle through with as much good grace as we can muster. Eight days from our second month with at least four months to go...and eight days.
Poor Bonnie had to return to the vet after her surgery. In a few short days she dropped from 83.5 pounds to a terrible sixty pounds. She has come back strong and nearing her original weight. That "free" puppy now has an invested value of $489.17.
Marcy was transported to the hospital one day but I brought her home with me.
I am crocheting in all my FREE time and trying to read The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. Apparently I am at fault and "attract" this chaos. I must find out the "secret" to ending that attraction. This was a book I chose at Salvation Army just because the cover was pretty. Won't do that again unless I need the cover for a project.
So here I am being non creative, dull and boring.
May your best dreams come true this week.

Oh, My...
I just realized I have been lax in my posting but sadly have had little to say. I'm all talked out. I'm stuffed to the gills with wonderful and some strange food. The litter from opening packages is cleared. The next to last guests have returned home.
There is some sense of order in my world again. I am comfortable with order.
Tuesday we drop Bonnie at the vet's for her shots, check up and spaying. Hubby has a doctor's appointment the same day. I'm hoping I don't get the places and patients mixed up.
Wednesday I take recyclables to turn in an hour away.
Friday, Zander's school begins again. Monday Andrew's and Jake's begins.
And we begin the year to do it all over again. We are grateful and blessed.
Happy New Year.

I sit in my area crocheting, checking now and then on the injured daughter still here. Zander plays with Legos while his mother naps. Monday we return to the doctor. Some one comes here three times a week and does what ever they do with a wound vac.

Medical Update On Youngest Daughter...
At the Friday return visit to doc, they decided to readmit Maria to the hospital. They were not happy with the way things looked. We've been unable to see the wound since the first surgeries because they put a cast on each time. She had surgery Saturday and more today. The doctor has left the wound open with a wound vac. The problem in her chest has been resolved so she is in less pain.
It will soon be a month since the accident.
Thank you for your continued prayers and healing thoughts.

Tractor Man Update...
Three hours through POURING rain to my favorite part of the state...the big capitol city. Twenty yards visibility driving until I arrived and now the rains have stopped.
I have delivered real pants...soft knit ones...so Hubby will not flash every one. I don't know why he doesn't love these gowns!!!! While I'm waiting I shall copy a pattern from his gown so I can sew some just for him when we return home.
Tractor Man is not skinned yet nor been put out to dry. He has been poked, prodded and questioned constantly. The Mighty Collective are putting their heads together to decide what is the best approach.
He has discovered new talents like peeing in jars and wiping the floor with one napkin and a foot. He has more wires than the grand boys' PS3 and tv put together.
He breathes, he lives. He sits up because he can't breath laying down.
I can feel the prayers surrounding us.
Thank you...will do updates til my battery dies or I find a plugin.
Three PM and nothing yet...gotta love those swift answers.
