a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Caught In The Act!!!

Lil is looking innocent even though she was caught in the act.  I know Border Collies are smart but how did she use that shovel???

Grandson/Football Report

Andrew, exhausted after a late night football game, excitedly waits for the bus.  The final score last night...28 to 0, our favor.  Papa said Andrew did a great job, wish I had been there.
Jake gets to spend the night.  Papa has promised him if he listens, does his homework, and get up for school without complaining, he gets to stay At The Farm.  Jake is and has been a good boy, except for one incident.  He got a paddling at school for throwing Jello up a boy's nose...it was strawberry flavored and Jake denies it.  Jake is still staying because I think it takes a very talented young man to throw strawberry Jello UP someone's nose...Jake doesn't care for Jello.
Zander's highlight of the week was getting to eat rice through the rails of a chair.  After each bite, he would chew and then jump out to scare Marcy.  This is a boo shot.

I think my daughers threw some good pups!

This N That

An appropriate title for this week, a week full of demands and reports...reports they asked for today and wanted last week. I am grateful I am closer to my day and a half off from work than I have been all week.

The weather is the kind you want to bathe in, cooler air, enough rain to freshen every thing.  The air is crisp and clear and clean and when you breath in, it seems to give new life and energy to the body and the soul.
I am only lacking in the time to enjoy it.

I hear the roosters greeting the dawn which has not quite made it yet.  The sky is still holding on to its darkness and that brings the sadness of shorter days.  Fall is in the air and I am wondering where the heck summer went!

I hear the shower as my grandson prepares for school and have yet to know the outcome of last night's game.  The game was away...far, far away.  I was leaving work about the time of the starting whistle.  I often wish I could carry the ball for him, do his homework or at least give him my wisdom of many years but I must let him grow on his own.  It is the hardest thing I have ever done and I have two more wonderful grandsons growing up that I shall have to let go of too.  Letting them find their wings will be a difficult job but one we all must do.

I have gained new followers on each blog and am delighted!  It still amazes me that someone finds what I write worth reading.  Thank you.

Off to the salt mines!  May each and every one of you have a day filled with wonderment and beauty.

Farm Fashion And Horse Lovin'

Please keep in mind, I do not dress for success At The Farm, I dress comfortable and sometimes comfortable is not so pretty...LOOK AT THE HORSES!  They saw me coming!
I am really brave...remember to look at the horses!
Nothing like the smell of horses.
I got my horse fix.

Sky Shooter...

I have been called worse!  Hubby mumbled it under his breath, like it was an insult or something.  He also said I'm not pulling over for a d#*! photo.  So these are taken through a dirty windshield and at least sixty miles an hour, I say "at least" because he did slow down a little for me.
It was absolutely beautiful and no matter how much Hubby fussed, he didn't suck the enjoyment outta me!
Just imagine what beautiful pictures I COULD have had if the stubborn barn-spoiled man would have pulled over!
Gotta love him, been stuck with him (and he with me) for thirty-eight years, guess I'll keep him.  Calling me sky shooter again, I just smiled and said, Thank you, honey!
