a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Lizzy Lounges Lazily...

I'm so tired from running with the big dogs.
Think I'll just stretch out and rest.
What do you mean?
New material?
Gee, I wasn't hurting it.
Just because you're "working with it"
doesn't mean I have to move.
Does it?
Now, I'm working with it.
I'm working it.
I win.

Too cute to correct, that's Lizzy.

Football Injures!!!

I do not like to hear that phone ring!  The school called me.  Maria was out taking Marcy to do her shopping. Talk about a hurt elbow!   Before the doc.
After the doc, no bones broken but taking blood tests to see why two injuries in one week.  I can tell you that without going anywhere.  Football hurts!!!  In no other place can three 250 pound guys jump on your back, throw you to the ground and nothing happens but another guy blowing a whistle.

I have often told you how scared I am to see Andrew play and NOW my second grandson, Jake, is playing too.  I am not getting Evan Zander one football!!!  I have enough gray hairs already.
UPDATE:  Doc just called.  Minimal elevation in white blood count, continue current treatment: Steroids, ice pack, wrap, surface cream with some therapy trying to straighten the arm.  The swelling had reduced then a warm bath brought it back worse than before.  If none of this improves the condition, he will be referred  to another doctor for possible drainage of site...ouch!

Table In A Box...

My handy-dandy tools I must use.  This is the most awesome style of box cutter and it opens like a knife.  It cuts through just about anything including me!  Dull blade?  No problem hold a button and change to a fresh blade or flip the ends to get a sharper edge.  If I had to use a real screw driver I would never get any thing done.
Here is my table in a box.  I have purchased beds in a bag but never this.  I thought, Oh, no, how difficult is this going to be?
Piece of cake!  A walk in the park!  Opening the box was the hardest thing I had to do.  The legs were packed nicely in a box behind the drawers,   Pull out the drawers and turn the two leg boxes around until you get them into a spot so you can lift them out.  Two legs per box, inside the table, inside wrapping, inside a box.
This is before I cleaned it.  Yes!!!  It was dusty inside a box.  That is a decorative tray on top holding my nuts and bolts.

This post had the possibility of going a completely different direction but I restrained my bad self and made a normal informative post.  Fifty-four by twenty-eight...this is one BIG table.

I think I'm saving it for my new green room...Cyber Green.  Yes, one more room to tear up and paint and reconstruct before I'm through.  And aren't you thrilled?  I'm sharing it all with you!

Saving Your Blog...

I've heard it can happen.  I fear it may happen.

I have a lot of time and words invested in this baby.  I would hate to lose it.

How can I save my blog along with the past posts I've written?

Since I'm in the enquiry mode, could someone recommend a beginning piano-like keyboard?  Andrew has expressed an interest in expanding his music to include the piano.  Before I buy a Baby Grand (kidding) I would like to test his interest.
The injured music playing football nut.  Note deformed left hand.  Only bruised but no chances were taken.  The doctor said, Ice, heat rotation, sling for 48 hours. He made one touch down and the conversion but we lost our last game of the year.  There's always next year.

Hope everyone survived the holiday and you are warm and safe from the path of the storm.

Charis, Lake Ediza, California, 1937 by Edward Weston

Charis meaning grace and kindness was not quite what I had pictured.  I knew His grace would set you free but somehow I imagined a different form.

The battle was full blown
When  Grace showed up
Armed with swords,
Knives and such.

The field was strewn
With giants and men
We remembered the beginning
But knew not the end.

There was monsters galore
Surrounding the field
The ones from lore
Were truly real.

With face set grimly
And legs wide spread
Grace took a stance
Filling enemies with dread.

Grace battled on
Now flanked by support
The monsters kept coming
They thought it was sport.

The circle kept tightening
Grace we did embrace
She was leading the battle
Against the horrors we faced.

After time unmeasured
And the dust cleared
The enemy lay around us
Grace showing no fear.

The few despots still standing
Left the battle field at a run
This day's battle was over
With our acceptance Grace had won.

Who knows the battles ahead
They can reach far and wide
But we will always be the victor
If Grace is by our side.
