a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

To Those Who Celebrate...

 I wish you flowers
sparkles
and pink skies.
For those who don't
you do
will be just great.

Pink...

air brushed skies
and blurry ground
reminds me
to focus
while driving around.

We All May Agree I'm Crazy...

or just a tad different but that's okay.  I'm never bored.

I saw a helpful hint on tv.  If you had trouble with snails or slugs draw a circle around your potted plant or whatever you want them to stay out of and they will.

I had to test this theory before I put it in my facts file.  I'm not just taking them at their word and spreading information if it's not true.

Slugs have been crawling into the dog food bowls outside if the dogs did not finish their food.  Each dog has their own pan.  Lil's sets on the porch and was one of the main pans that was filling with slugs.

So here's my chance to prove or disprove this statement.  I search for chalk.  I find pink sidewalk chalk.  I drew a big circle around the pan.
They crossed the line!
I drew circles around them.
They crossed that line.
Then I drew circles around all of them
Then Mother Slug shows up!
The chalk line stopped no one.

So when you hear for slug/snail trouble draw a chalk line around the pot, DON'T LISTEN!  It doesn't work.  I have tested the theory and Lil was my witness.  If it makes you feel better, she thought I was crazy too.

I guess this goes back to my wise Granny Pruett again.  She always said, "Never believe anything you hear and only half of what you see."  The older I get the wiser I realize she was.

Oh, yes, and in lieu of the fancy foot callus remover, a tiny nutmeg grater will work just fine.

The Mag 155

Oh, my impatient bones have caused me trouble. The Mag is up.  Join in the fun there and here too.

Art by Joseph Lorruso

The battle of the caffeines
Was a scary tale
Coffee or soda
Who wins?
Hard to tell.
The condiments were talking
About the view
No one needed seasoning
Enough spice here
For me and you.
The hands explored the moment
From top to almost tail
There was no spot
Left untouched
In this meeting
Of the pales.

The end remains yours
To decide
The moment
Hangs in time
Forever
On the canvas
Forever
On the mind.
