a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Bug-Eyed Bonnie

On the master's lap you can tell Bonnie has grown.
You want me to take a picture the way you are dressed?
I refuse to cooperate!
If you want me to pose the leg warmers must go!
Note:  The blue is the light.  Bonnie's eyes are golden.

Poets United Women

I have many woman I respect and have influenced me greatly.  Some of them are in blog land.

I wrote this in the middle of the night not knowing this prompt was next.

SISTER MINE

The bones of her birthday dinner
Still lay on the plate

A teacher by trade
She molded young minds

Isolated by weather and time
She sat visiting old memories

The bones of the past resurfaced
And she smiled.

Visit Poets United.  Join the challenge and enjoy the entries.

Always A Use For Everything

Hubby cooks.  Took him thirty years to try cooking something besides a hot dog or hamburger but he's pretty good.

This was ham and salad night.

We all were served and the flavor was wonderful.

I was in my sitting area with the door shut and keep thinking I smelled something burning.  I checked. Something was burning alright!

The kitchen, dining room, and hall were filled with rolling smoke.  I coughed my way to the stove.

The burner was on high.

The remaining ham was black.

My Paula Deen skillet was screaming in pain.  The spatula was no more.

The easy clean skillet was beyond cleaning but the spatula makes a great back scratcher.

Thank you, honey, the ham was great.

Dam Road

Time for Hubby's heart check-up.  Of course it was!  Road was solid.
Leaving town
Lake Norfork
Dam road

I suction cupped myself to the truck seat and buckled in 'cause Hubby was having fun with me.  He had to check if the road was slick.  He had to see how far he could go up a hill in two wheel drive.  He had to find the edge of the road.

I addressed Hubby with his full name many times.  He would just laugh and demonstrate the difference between positive track and four wheel drive. He even tried to teach me how to drive out of a spin/slide.

We are home again safe and sound.

The passenger side of the truck has been cleaned.

I'm still not talking to him!

His heart check up came out well but I think I am having trouble after that ride!
