Making A Sign: The Wrong Way

and the right way.  I had this wonderful brain storm for a shop sign.  I have lots of ice cream bucket lids and they never seem to equal the number of buckets I have.  So I gathered eight lids.
And painted them
Not exactly the order this should be done.
I trimmed the edge off so I would have a flat surface.
Again, NOT the order in which this should be done.
Here's where my idea is headed.
Cut a letter, attach magnetic tape, attach said letters to metal sign.
Once again, this is not the way to do this.
First cut your letters
then paint
then add strips of magnetic tape
to the back
not the front.
The sticky will pull the paint off
and how will the letter work with the magnet on the front???
Do not draw the letter on the back...
it will be backwards!
Draw the letter on the paint
that should not have been there yet.
Attach the tape to the BACK of the letter
Remember to turn the letters over
and
THEN
paint them
somewhere you do not want the letters to show
on the ground!!!
Now the metal sign is changeable
and is hammered to China in the ground.
So you can take the letters in
when the day is done.
I'm afraid I spelled it wrong!
I have added dark green to my techno-colored hands
while this guy laughed
the entire time!

I Put My Painting Hat On...

It didn't fit very well.  I was touching up some old spots and painting some new spots.

While painting the floor I turned around and stepped in the wet paint.  Jumped off that and put my hand in wet paint on the cabinet. Bend over to clean my foot and now my back end is painted.

At least my hair is different.  Black with lavender and green accents.

It was not my day to paint.

I Looked And Looked...

Keith Haring
For the prompt at Magpie Tales
Visit Tess and share a poem.
To be inspired.
I waited for the art
To shout
It's message
In black and white

Angels falling
People laying dead
Within fire
Riding the cross
Was the single
Wingless one

Did the joined circles
Mean eternity
Or the ring given
Mean a holy union
It's a maze to find your way
With a pencil lead

Could it be the hopelessness
Of the human condition
Did the artist mean to imply
Even with wings we fall
I am in the dark
So I delete

Terrapin Trading Company

You can't miss Terrapin Trading Company.  The sign drew me in.  I was enchanted. The business owner makes his own stone and silver jewelry.  The pendants are absolutely amazing.
A young couple own/operate this magnificent shop.  Handmade jewelry, tie-died clothing made from hemp and bamboo, scents and sites that are endless and wonderful to view.  They also carry books in a comfortable welcoming reading room.
My photos do not do it justice.
It is a beautiful and interesting place to visit.
There is a greeter who carries a ball in her mouth eager to play
after she greets you with a friendly bark.
Any business that has their dog onsite is okay with me.
Something amazing and inviting in every nook and cranny.
Oh, the treasures I found!
This is the dress I purchased with two new stickers I shall place on the side windows of my car.  Time for those horse stickers to retire.

I purchased an Amazonite ring.  I picked it up and it felt right. Amazonite is called the hope stone.  It is supposed to ward negative energy, help balance your Chakra, aid in healing, help you be more creative and enhance your memory.  It's connection to water also encourages tranquility. There was much more but the ring hasn't kicked in yet.

Shortly after I left the store I took the ring back and told the owner it wasn't working.  He was very concerned and inquired why.  I said, It's suppose to improve my memory and I've already forgotten the name of it!  He laughed and wrote it down for me.

I want to return soon.  There is much more to see.

If you find yourself in Norfork, Arkansas near the junction of White River and Norfork River stop in to see Amanda and David Quinney at 13869 Highway 5 South.  You will be welcomed and have a great time.

Same Day Out..

We lucked onto a new viewing area with parking and winding trails.  This is right up my alley but sadly Hubby can't climb nor walk a lot.
Our view from the first look off was spectacular but then I spotted a trail.  Hubby waited for me to explore.
First I saw this...okay, but how high can it be, really.
After quite a steep hike I saw another sign.
I can't see the top.
I can't see the bottom.
And yes, that is a person falling off a cliff on the sign!
At the summit even the trees were falling over the bluff.
The view was worth the hike even in ninety plus temps.
Right then left Norfork River as far as I could see.
An island and a little white water was way down the river.
I saw rocks and wild flowers.  The descent was very steep.  I had to use my brakes a lot. I saw a new view and I was loving the planet, a wonderful creation.  I was thankful when I reached the bottom.  I acted tough as if the height did not bother me.  I was telling Hubby how beautiful the view was.  He saw me coming and had a drink and a air conditioned truck waiting for me.

Gotta love a man that encourages you to have an adventure even if he no longer can.  I think I will keep him.
