Gossamer Wings

ARTWORK by ULRIKE BOLENZ
For Magpie Tales

Gossamer wings born in Fae air
Resting on flowers
First here then there
Gossamer wings born in Fae air

Flying close as she dares
Wings flit magic showers
Gossamer wings born in Fae air
Fairy dusts the flowers

Secret Knells

Cry!
Cry all!
Raise your voices
Cry!
Show us your injuries
Your broken bones
Your bruised spirits
Cry!
Show us your falls
your broken hands
your hidden damage
Cry!
So the world might hear
Cry!
So we may listen
and help end this
tragedy with you

The prompt was not restrictive so I wrote what came.
I think the repetition of Cry is a wake up bell.

Prodigal Ways

Learn from the prodigal* son
treasure lies in grieving
rushing water roars

Longing is but gravel
in a fast flowing river
wearing down with time

Hide not in a tavern
but fan the flames
of a home fire

We cannot find candles
that outshine the sun
so we return

Welcomed,
loved,
forgiven always

*prodigal- 'wastefully extravagant'

Shadorma Style...Interment Camps

interment
camps have come before
and again
and again
isolate, confine, condemn
will we ever learn?

There have been many atrocities committed under the guise of war.  Interment Camps were one that many states hosted because of government orders and fear.

Arkansas had two such camps during World War II.  Jerome, AR - Opened October 6, 1942. Closed June 30, 1944. Peak population 8,497  Rohwer, AR - Opened September 18, 1942. Closed November 30, 1945. Peak population 8,475

There were others scattered through out the states.
May it never happen again!
