a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

A Few Years Ago

I  found a wonderful blog called Going Gently.  I was immediately hooked!  Another country, another lifestyle, a blogger with humor, kindness, adventures and animals.

John pulled me in with his village flower show and his colorful descriptions of his neighbors in the small village of Trelawnlyd,  He and The Prof have dogs and one cat and other animals, too. I'm a sucker for dogs!

You never know what the subject will be but he is a straight-shooting tell it like it is man with a heart the size of Alaska or maybe bigger.  You will laugh.  You will cry.  You will never be bored.

His current dream is to reach 1000 followers.  He's close.  If you've never been by to visit, drop in, snoop around and follow if you so desire.  You will not be disappointed.

We Laugh Together

It is nice to have an extra driver so you can send someone else to pick up what you need in town.

I carefully made a list of things we could not live without until my standard grocery run.  I was careful to make it clear, the size of package etc.  I had a coupon for twenty-five cents off Charmin Toilet Paper so I wrote on the list 24 Double Roll to indicate the size of package to which the coupon applied.  The rest of the list was standard items Andrew was familiar with, no special orders.

Andrew carried in the groceries and gave me the ticket.  I saw a price on the list I did not order nor could identify.  It just said Deli with the price.  I asked what did you find at the Deli?

HE SAID, "THE LIST SAID TWENTY-FOUR ROLLS BUT I ONLY GOT THE TWELVE PACK"

I explained that I had written the toilet paper description for the coupon.  He said he thought the coupon was the reminder and it wasn't on the list!  Oh, how we laughed.

We enjoyed our fresh deli double rolls with homemade beef stew for supper and have the bathroom situation covered too!

Thanks, Andrew, for saving me a trip to town.  He graduates high school this year and we grow old.

And You Thought I Had Stopped...

creating mad projects from nothing.  Never!
Made Hubby a comfy neck pillow from holey leggings
It's can be reshaped.
Made an "art" piece from paint
dried in the bottoms of paint cans.
Added my own touches to the paint.
Gathered some sand and rocks for another project.
Printed, framed, hanged
and added some bling to Andrew's room.
I "assisted" Hubby while he made twenty five pounds of deer Summer Sausage.  Although I have not been posting blow by blow accounts of my shenanigans, I've tried to be productive.

What projects are you working on this year?

Dog Walk

The skies were blue and the water had receded.
We, meaning me and the dogs,
began our damage assessment.
Lizzy didn't like where I crossed
so she just followed me from across the creek.
Bonnie had no trouble crossing anywhere.
The difference may be the eighty pounds Bonnie weighs
and the fact she loves water
Or it could simply be Lizzy is VERY selective.
