The prompt this week is: 'It's an amusing little whine...' (and, yes, the misspelling is deliberate)
Number of words: 100 plus the 5 words of the prompt. 105 total. Style of writing: Any
I don’t like a noisy dog
One that growls or barks
I want them to be quiet
As we’re strolling in the park.
I want them to lay silently
At my feet while I read
I want them to look at meAnd communicate their needs.
I’ve had yappers
Who drove me quiet insane
Their persistence barking
Stuck needles in my brain
I’ve also had some growlers
That seemed to growl for fun
Didn’t need a reason
They growled at every one.
Now I have a whiner
He does it all the time
But I have grown to love him
It’s an amusing little whine.

You were up bright and early with your brain in gear! Nice job!
I love this poem. It's me to a T. Wonder if I'll ever experience the last strophe. :)
this one is cool and i like it lots. it says exactly what i would say if i had one iota of writing talent. yappers make me crazy, barkers make me crazy. and there are times when Jake or baby whine and they are amusing. like when bob is in the back yard and they are in the kitchen, it is a whine that says out out i want out. you could change the word from dog to child and i would feel the same.
Awesome ! I loved it ! Have a good day 1
What a clever piece of poetry!! Our Mulligan produces a quiet, one note whine when he wants to get in our laps.
This was so cute. Good job.
Haha. Great little piece, Gail. :o)
You are talented!
Hmm. I love this! Leo is a moaner. And a whiner. And a barker. He seldom growls though--even when he's on full alert. He is deadly silent and then he pounces. Pity the burglar who picks my house on a whim.
Beautiful, Gail. I love your poem even more because it about dogs. I love my Adi, Beagle Dog.

A good response to a prompt that didn't inspire me enough to make myself stop talking to my son's friends who were over for a BBQ.
=)
It's amazing how you can forgive a pet it's faults ... and who doesn't love a good dog!
Bravo.
This was fabulous!
I love, love, loved this!
Really, really, really cute!
I wish I would have thought of this!
