they are beautiful, do the turtles leave the shells? or die? I have never seen one that was not alive. we had lots of these in GA but have not seen them here.
The turtle shells are indeed beautiful and such a lovely shine you'v3 brought to them. I have seen many large turtles in our river, but never an empty shell. Perhaps I'll discover one,,,, one of these days on a trip to our island in the middle. Dem Bones, h-m-m-m, cow or ?
When we came here in 1986, the mountains were full of those turtles. After every rain in summer they would be out on the roads. My wife made me stop and move them out of the highway. But now you never see them anymore. I don't know what happened to them.
Beautiful! I love that you have preserved them so that their beauty can continue to be enjoyed. I suspect that somewhere little turtle spirits are smiling. :-)

That's rather cool you've found several turtle shells. Where will you put them?
What type of turtle shells are they? Oh, I wish Il had one of those to make a rattle. Very cool how you made them shine. I love it!!!

Hello, that is neat. I have never seen the empty turtle shells. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!
Somewhere there is a turtle looking for a home. "I could have sworn I left it RIGHT HERE." lol
Those are incredible! What a lovely addition to your place.

What are the white patches! What happened to their bodies? You made them beautiful, and now they DO live on and on!!! SO cool.

Did not know polyurethane could restore the shells like that. Nice rescue, they were too pretty to just molder away.

Very talented, Gail. My hubby says 'don't touch dead stuff'.
I am glad your hubby knows what makes your heart happy. ^_^
Blessings to you all, Gail.
You sure you're not related to Charles Darwin? :)
The best part of this is that your husband knows you so well and probably keeps his eyes peeled watching for things he knows you will like!
The poly really brings them to life.
Really fine turtle shell treasures from hubby . . .
