a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Perchance To Dream

Jacek Yerka, 2011

There was a young lady who dreamed in chapters
Who loved her life but feared the after
She dreamed she was awake
But dreaming sealed her fate
And she was lost forever in the subchapters

Thanks for the fun prompts, Tess from Magpie Tales.

Zombie Prompt

I followed the angel
with a crossbow
trusting only him
his wings
glowed
lighting
my way

The bunker
dark  dank
stocked
held us
away from horrors
safe forever
then I woke up!

Nor exactly a master piece but any excuse to talk about Daryl is good for me.  I am one of the millions of "cult" followers of this post apocalyptic world show, The Walking Dead.  I haven't been this hooked to tv since the Original Star Trek aired on NBC when I was eleven.

Thanks to Imaginary Garden With Real Toads  I have enjoyed searching for pictures of my dream time and Daryl.

The Letter H And Poetry Jam

No, that's not my crochet Hook in the orange/lemon bowl but it's close.

Since today is H day at Alphabet Thursday I'm gonna call it Hiram.  Hiram is a handy little fellow.  We use Him to cross cut the skin of citrus fruit which makes them much easier to peel.
For Poetry Jam Sweep Out The Old Year, I talking about what I want to keep and carry into the next year.

If only I could hold on to
A child's blind belief
Not to lose my imagination
Always willing to believe.

Keeping my dreams breathing
And my imagination alive
Would be the best thing to carry
Into two thousand ninety-five.

My Husband Had A Dream

My husband has been overwhelmed and overworked since the end of January when the ice hit, then the flood hit. He is the manager of the Office of Emergency Services for our county.

Most people have power restored and all roads are open. Things are not perfect but they are improving.

During all this, we, too, had trees fall, fences down, things washed out. My hubby, being the last to take care of himself, is very good at his job.

He could not sleep well the other night for dreaming. We can guess what was on his mind...our messes.

He dreamed the cows escaped through the many downed fences. He dreamed twenty extra head of horses came in. He dreamed of mud up to all the animals necks and they could not move. He dreamed the mud dried and the horses were sprigging grass, walking along, placing the sprigs and patting them in with hooves.

At least it had a happy ending! Now if we can train them to sprig grass, we will have lots of help!
