Ten Degrees And Warming

Princess, bleating for breakfast,  made me dress and head to the barn to get a flake of hay.  She seemed rather delighted to see me since Marcy is usually feeding at daylight.  Marcy was staying in a little later this morning.  It was ten degrees when I went out and not sure what our low was except that it was too low for me. When I delivered the hay, Princess did her dance and stayed quiet for a while.

I did take my camera but it was too cold to wander far. I fed the outside dogs, saw Marcy had already prepared the cats a warm treat of fish and their usual food.   I tried to capture the diamonds on the timber but the cold ran me indoors.

The Queen of the farm, Maggie, is royally ignoring Gen's submission.  Look at that look on Maggie, as if it is beneath her to acknowlege Gentry's efforts.

I may miss that Sunday walk today.

Whacky Wednesday

No Princess in not dead! She just looks that way...she is napping. I guess you can tell by her belly, she eats well. Yes, well...she eats everything. She eats dog food, cat food, chicken food, cattle food, and everything that does not move out of her way. I even caught her in my arrow head chip bowl eating flint chips!

See how well the cats blend into the surroundings...if my husband had not seen that picture, he would have never know. Good news for each of you who have read my cat story! You each have been awarded a cat. I just need your mailing address.

The next giveaway I have is roosters...pick a color. My sister allows her extra roosters to run loose (cats do not bother them, in fact they eat together). Marcy lets her hens set when they will and they are as fertile as the cats!
One lonely violet hiding from all the flower eating critters.

How Do You Top A New Grandson?

We have cows? What are they doing over there?

Beautiful fall colors are beginning to show.

Princess sticking her head where it does not belong!

She had to have help getting out of this.

Have you ever seen a snake skin Black Walnut?

I thought after having a new grandson,
I might not find any pretty pictures.

Did not have a problem at all, just had to look around the farm. There is never a shortage of interesting pictures around here. I love seeing the beauty in a rock or a fallen feather or just the bark on a tree. I am completely content just walking and looking. There is always beauty. Now if they could just put this in a pill, a lot of people would be stress free.

Princess Is The Only Goat...

and I believe I can safely say there will be no more. Remember the old saying, no such thing as a free animal! Princess is half Boer and something else. She is small because she was the third of triplets. Her mamma said two is all I want. Since her siblings were twice the size of Princess the owner started bottle feeding. Then he graciously gave the goat and the bottle to Marcy. The baby bottle he was using said "I'm a little Princess" thus her name.
This goat is every where! She has a chainlink fence six feet tall...she climbs out. Wish I hadn't brought her home to my sister, wish we didn't have her. We cannot eat her so I will just keep complaining. Princess guards the yard with the dogs, runs the cats from their food, and plays chase. If it is there, she will climb it. What can I do? Look at that face.

Everybody Wants In!

The weather has cooled. Rain may be on the way.

Princess hasn't figured out that she is no longer a bottle baby.
She is trying to talk her mama, my sister Marcy, into letting her in the house.
It is hard to ignore a pretty face like this. Add the pitiful little bleats and you have a recipe for trouble if you give in to her.
