Looks Like

this fake snake scared the poop outta some bird.

Still trying to paint the house Rustic Red between all the thunder storms and rain showers .

Spent half a day waiting to die because I thought I took one pill twice...then I found the second one!
I didn't die.

Got my underwear and t-shirt took them to the shower and promptly lost them.  First place I looked was the hamper.  Didn't see them.  So I'm walking around looking.  Hubby says, What have you lost? because he is becoming accustomed to my misplacing things.  Hubby joins the hunt and the first place he looks is inside the giant antique crock in the dining room!  I said, I would never put them there!  He answered, How do you know?  You don't remember where you left them.  I looked again in the hamper and there they were.  Picked them up with my dirty clothes after all.
Anyone else misplace their underwear this week?
Please tell me I'm not alone.

Evidence of Snake Occupancy

That's right...snake poop!!!!  Marcy spotted it under the edge of the old house.  I took no picture.  I was somewhat disbelieving and had to dig in it with a stick.  It looked like the above picture.

The snake I almost mowed that got away is still feeding in the area.  I notice my frog population is decreasing so I suppose he will stay until the population is decimated.

I have my snake eyes on as I carefully trim around the old house.  I always call the dogs to ask them "What is it?"  This is their clue to look for snakes.  Lil lays quietly at the entrance of the lean to kitchen.  I feel safe as I trim and cut.  I am not stupid though and take no chances.  We are on Copperhead alert.

The snake saga continues.  I truly think I will triumph.  I am known to be very determined.

Cold Frame/Worm Bed Progress

Trimmed and weed free...notice that the top is deeper than the bottom.  That is because it was dug completely under ground with the lay of the land then rocked.
These are all around the edging where the old wooden frame has rotted.  I do believe I can reuse these with some miracle worker like WD-40 and frame for doors...if I want.  Don't know yet. Playing it by ear.

Sweet Hubby brings me a scoop full of white sand to mix with the compacted soil in the bottom.  Then for the next layer of farm gold...horse, cow and chicken poop all mixed nicely.  Add some green compost, stir again and add water.  Will check on the "heat" (composting items will raise the temperature) of the mix if not too hot should be able to add worms shortly.

With doors it can double as a cold frame.  Without it can be a composted wormy heaven.
Beginning the dampening and mixing process....
forgetting and leaving the water on!!!!!
Since this is beach front property
tiny neighbors are already moving in.
