There Are Kingdoms and Reaches

far more than we know.  There is a world within our world where magic lives by many names and coexists with the ordinary. A few glimpse it and sense it around them in Nature's Realm.

Every tree has its Dryad and each Dryad has its dragon/tree.  It is a special relationship. One cannot exist without the other.  If one should die, the other will too.

Sometimes an ordinary moment with extraordinary power can bring back the Dryad's music and lift the dragon's wings so they may live again.  Few are fortunate to witness this re-birthing.

Many may remember the discoverythe imagining and the journey.  Who knew it would take me so long!

Presenting the rebirth of a tree dragon and her Hamadryad living again in my heart and my yard.
She may change as she tells me
but for my birthday she is poised for flight.

May we celebrate the magic and beauty around us
and always feed our imagination.

"Cocaine"

floods the valley as I see red...Rustic Red!  I smile as "Cocaine" transitions into "Pride and Joy" one of my favorites.

Being serenaded as you paint a house is a plus.  If only the paint flowed as smoothly as the music.

The Adventures of Dead Mouse

I had a helper yesterday to make my day go faster.
Meet Mr. Dead Mouse.
He said just call him Dead.
He did some sweeping.
The hammer was just a wee bit large for him.
Dead likes honey and was fascinated with the antique smoker.
He was very sad when the bee gloves would not fit.
Dead gave the grind wheel a couple of turns.
He laughed and said it made him dizzy.
He enjoyed checking out the old tools
and was very grateful he had sharp teeth.
This saw could not be mouse powered.
Pretty knowledgeable about power
Dead admitted he COULD possibly be
the reason this outlet will not work.
Dead decided to leave the vise alone.
I would say that was wise considering his fragile condition.
Dead Mouse became Happy Mouse
when he discovered this hub cap.
He's a Chevrolet mouse through and through.
He swore on his mother's grave
he did not know this place was posted.
Dead spent the rest of the day dancing his little feet off.
He came alive to Queen's "We Are The Champions"
We both enjoyed the music.
Boston, CCR, Nine Inch Nails, even The Boss sang.
When I left for the day, Dead was still rocking out!
He will probably be too tired tomorrow to help.
It was a productive day.
A job is always easier when it's shared.
Thank you, Mr Dead Mouse.
You made my day.

Saving Your Blog...

I've heard it can happen.  I fear it may happen.

I have a lot of time and words invested in this baby.  I would hate to lose it.

How can I save my blog along with the past posts I've written?

Since I'm in the enquiry mode, could someone recommend a beginning piano-like keyboard?  Andrew has expressed an interest in expanding his music to include the piano.  Before I buy a Baby Grand (kidding) I would like to test his interest.
The injured music playing football nut.  Note deformed left hand.  Only bruised but no chances were taken.  The doctor said, Ice, heat rotation, sling for 48 hours. He made one touch down and the conversion but we lost our last game of the year.  There's always next year.

Hope everyone survived the holiday and you are warm and safe from the path of the storm.

Music Fills My Head

Down Under Princess
Down Under the Winged Elm

Down Under the mail box

This morning I woke to music. Not in the room, but in my head. I'll take that as a good sign.
Then a thought came I've never heard before, I want to play a fiddle/violin! As much as I admire the fantastic violinists I have heard through the years, I have never had the thought I want to play. Hope this is not one of those God Voices my sister talks about 'cuz then I'll have to learn.

The American Dream Part Two

The Seventies ended the draft, started my family and my career.

Our parents' dream was that we did better than they. We were educated, pumped with ethics and sent out to conquer the world.

It was a time when your parents' name was your credentials. Their name got your jobs, your home and your first line of credit.

The Seventies, when computers were still a wonder, veterans were coming home to hate instead of fanfare and pot was the entertainment choice.

Our heroes changed from Audy Murphy to Abbey Hoffman.

What had gone before us shaped our life as it had our parents.

From The Mills Brothers to the Bellamy Brothers to the Doobey Brothers, the music sang our differences.

Armed with the "wisdom" of youth, we proceeded to change our world.

We reared our children with loving guidance and not with an iron hand.

We conducted our business using vast lines of credit.

We demonstrated free speech and free countrydom while barring ourselves into defined consumer cages we could not escape.

We, like our parents, touted education and dreamed our children would do better than we.

Ahhh! The American Dream!
