Paybacks

I've mentioned Hubby and I have a joking, relaxed, loving relationship and often avoid boredom by pulling practical jokes on each other.

I will quote him from many times in the past, "Paybacks are hell".

The other day we were driving around on the Gator while I TRIED to take pictures at break neck speeds  We were checking a pond to see if it was holding water.  Not much.  Then Hubby drove right off the steep bank with no warning, straight down.  I didn't even have time for a dirty word.  I was gripping a secure spot with both hands.  Then he noticed my bare foot as we drove OUT OF THE POND. He said, "Didn't think those little toes could hold on like that. You have little white monkey toes." Then I found those words...and he laughed and laughed and mentioned he loved me a time or two.

We've had memory glitches lately (too bad we can't have our memory upgraded like computers). Hubby was panicking because he couldn't remember if he poured gas or diesel into the tractor.  Both are red jugs. The diesel has a D on it but Hubby couldn't remember which jug he had used!

After the problem was resolved I made sure it wouldn't happen again...

He won again!  Didn't bother him a bit, said he needed that and would be proud to fill it up at the station.  Some one please help me outwit this rat!

Timothy Two For Two Shoes Tuesday

I have been slow in completing my water garden transformation.  It seems when I work on it I always find surprises.  Hubby denies having anything to do with it but the twinkle in his eye gives him away every time.

Paybacks have been greatly needed but my brain has been dull.  Other than slapping the bathroom door and making him yell and jumping out to scare him I haven't found any really good payback.

Well, today was the day.  Meet the wild creature for Two Shoes Tuesday, Timothy Two. Same size, same water garden so if one was placed there logic would tell you T2 was placed there also.
I have nothing against Alligator Snapping Turtles except they eat our fish and do bite what gets in their way. Hubby caught one from a river slough years ago that filled the entire bed of his truck.  This one also bit a large V in the boat paddle.  I respect them and they taste good.

So after I found T2 I thought, Hubby likes these so well I will just give this one to him.  I wrapped him in a cloth and carried him inside and excitedly asked Hubby to look at what I had found.
Hubby hunted for his flashlight he uses when he wants a good look at something...like arrow heads or rocks. I may have IMPLIED that it was a rock.  He accepted the wrapped object centered the light and unwrapped the SURPRISE.  He wasn't expecting movement and he almost threw it!  I guess I can call that half a pay back.

T2 swam away in the creek where the cattle were resting...but I'm still planning more payback.

Tiny Turtle For dVerse~Poets Pub

Tiny turtle in my hand
How did you arrive here
By accident
Or man?
Tiny now too small to bite
You will grow
 Into a frightful sight.
The question remains
How came you here?
I know the answer...
From my sweet dear
Hubby's main goal
Is to make me scream
It's just a game
He's not mean
He laughs now but
I'm quite the sneak
I'll release this baby
To the creek.

One thing we know
And tell
Around here
Paybacks are hell.
