a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Frost's Form
Our mission for today is to write using Robert Frost's form for dVerse~Poets Pub
It matters not what we write
We check if form is right
On paper I laboriously pen
Hoping I finish this night
I write the verse and begin
To see what comes from my blend
It's hopeless I can see
One more verse and it will end
I create the second of three
I almost finish this gleefully
Mr Frost would not be glad
I've butchered his form so horribly
A fourth verse must be had
To keep the form true not bad
So I've added to my writing pad
To prove I am stark raving mad
A fourth verse must be had
To keep the form true not bad
So I've added to my writing pad
To prove I am stark raving mad

Frost and Freeze...
Freezing temperatures made the leaves fall like rain. I knew after our good rain, the cold would come but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I did like the rain.
I ran outside in sock feet just after the sun topped the mountain. I tried to capture the leaves falling like rain but I had little luck. Sometimes you're just meant to witness the wonder of Mother Nature first hand.

Thursday's Things In A Row
Rub board rows in a winter sky,
shine on reclining grasses.
Spikes of frost line up,
and animals tip toe through wet sand.
Cold rows on a winter's day,
but come a hot summer,
we'll wish they'd stayed.
she's loads of fun any day of the week.

Thursday's Things In A Row
Charme and a row of fire wood,
sporting the same colors.
The herd is wondering who fixed the fence.
I got blamed.
Pickly pears apples on a frosty morn.
Visit Pat to see more rows
and join the fun.

A Killing Frost
and the garden wasn't through producing.
but the frost didn't care.
In anticipation, the sisters gathered,
and gathered,
and protected what they could.
Fall is definitely here.

Rushing Spring...
That'll teach me to brag!
Mother Nature taught her lesson...
Only She knows for sure when spring is here.

The Only Green...
in this winter waste land of browns.
Forests of frosts look cold to me
I've forgotten...
how bad it can be!

Looks Like Snow...
but it was only frost
on my windshield.
Some of the doors were frozen shut
from last night's rain.
I started my car to warm
and snapped some pictures.
My window sticker looks like Charme.
My license plate was dirty,
but I am grateful we have had rain
to make mud.
I decided I must be a nut,
since this is my post today.

Autumn...
is undressing for winter,
although some colors still hold on.
Protected mums remind us of the beauty
that will be again.
One sweet potato plant yields much,
but the ground is hard and dry for digging.
The winter radishes are almost gone
and the snow peas are eaten by deer.
The sunrises are beautiful
showing bare trees.
The plants dressed in frost,
dream of spring.

Hoarfrost or Rabbit Frost...
I need a vote here. I am not talking dirty, just arguing with my hubby over something unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Den so loves it when he pushes my buttons!
My sister, Marcy, took some beautiful pictures of what we had always known as and called hoarfrost.
Certain times during cold weather, the conditions are just right for frost to form on objects. These can take many creative and wonderful forms, after all, the best artist is nature.
I was showing Den these pictures and he begins to argue that it is rabbit frost. He said the old timers called it rabbit frost because it told when it was safe to eat wild rabbits. I told him my parents and grandparents and every one I knew in the "old timer" category called it hoarfrost.
I proceed to google it and what did I find?? All kinds of wonderful pictures of HOARFROST but not a trace of rabbit frost anywhere.

I don't know about your guys but mine does not like to admit he is wrong. Google was not enough proof for him. So please raise your voices and let the women be heard. If I am wrong, I will admit it.
What do you call it? Help me out here...PLEASE, I need to win one!
