Hang on! I don't need to travel that far...my landlords grow similar vegetables in similar quantity on this block of land...3 acres of land...on which my little cabin sits on its small portion a few hundred metres/yards from their home further up the block.
I need to go stake out some of our tomatoes when I finish this. I noticed this morning that some of the plants are near breaking.
When I read your post title, I was a little nervous. Thought you had killed off the fatted calf some something. When I was a kid, my dad raised beef cattle. They had names, and he would train them to come to be fed when he waved his handkerchief. Then one day the butcher would come and kill them. Never got used to that!
Gail, things are looking good! You are ahead of me. My cucs and squash haven't produced fruit yet and the tomatoes are much smaller. Just now getting ears on the corn.
I am constantly fighting the Japanese beetles for everything here.

Your garden looks quite peaceful when you take your pictures, Gail. Looks very nice. ^_^
Now if you could only train the dogs to get the bugs...
Soon your pickin baskets will be full. This is a fun time of year for gardening.
Yum! It amazes me to see the garden grow like it does. Ours is doing well, too.
I might come over and pitch a tent!
