a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

The Blackberry Rose

no bigger than my thumbnail,
unfolded her tiny petals
to celebrate the rain.

So that is 'the yellow rose of Texas'.
Never saw one before, but it is a beauty!

There aren't too many floral remnants in my garden this week. It's been blustery, rainy and cold and I think most of the flowers are tired. I did find enough to make a bouquet of wild flowers.

I've never seen one, and I love that it's so small.

I've just finished checking out all the posts on this page- I love the trees, all dressed up and naked! You and your clever way with words!

Those paintings are quite intriguing! I need to spend some more time with them. One in particular reminds me of when I was a teenager...I'm definitely going to have to study that one and dig for that elusive memory it is beckoning!
