During all the rain, some posts loosened,
The wonderful escape artists found the weak spot.
The crunching of bucketed chestnuts alerted Bev.
A lone snort told me before daylight
that someone was where they weren't supposed to be.
Broken Arrow makes a plan.
They found wonderful new spots to graze,
gardens to gallop tip-toe through,
and canines and felines willing to share their food.
I loved on them...I think, we all did.
Allowed them to stay free for a couple of days.
They would travel from freedom to the barn,
and back again.
The horses have their own pasture
but the lure of the unknown called them.
Tonight, they will surprised.
Their escape route is repaired.
Tomorrow, they'll stay in their pasture.
The cats will enjoy their breakfast,
sharing only with dogs and chickens.

We all need to break out of the norm from time to time to remain healthy minded.
How much cat food does it take to fill a horse? Lots and Lot.

What a adventure they had! Bet they will talk about it for a long time as will the cats. LOL
Ha! Adventure indeed! :) Everyone needs to bust out every once in awhile...and be reined in again!
I do think that horses know when they are in 'forbidden' territory and do have that sense of adventure look about them. Escaping is such fun!
Everyone needs an adventure once in a while. Lucky horses!
they're so beautiful. i'd have let them be spoiled for a while too!
Wonderful photos of the great escape to investigate new ground ! Have a good day !
And that was their Christmas gift! How fun to explore new areas, different grass to graze!
That's nice that they can be loose and not get into danger...
Beautiful horses and lucky to have a holiday :) B
Haha. Won't they be surprised.
Thanks for the pictures of your beautiful horses, Gail.
*Hugs* ♥
The grass is alway greener.....they look pretty content out there.
Well you know what they say..."the grass is always greener on the other side." Or in this case "the cat food and chestnuts are more inticing on the other side!" =)
Interesting things are always happening over there. I especially love hearing and seeing what goes on with the horses.
=)
I love how you LOVE your horses.
My adventure with mine (when I was growing up) escaping was just a tad wilder, I'm afraid! Glad you got them...:)JP
Good looking escapees:)
Clever ponies!
I'm glad you let your horses have their adventure for a few days. Obviously they enjoyed themselves a lot. It must have been like they were on a vacation to them. They like you well enough to hang around. That's good, isn't it?
