Heaven Is For Real

Seldom do I take the time to watch a movie and seldom do I cry...I did both today.  Not tears of sadness, nor disappointment nor pain but tears of joy.  I cried because "Heaven Is For Real".

I thought this day, this place and this time was appropriate to share the joy I received from the movie.

In a season when we speak of love, gifts and family some of us need to know Heaven is for real. This movie, based on a true story, clarified for me the gift that we all are given.

Merry Christmas!

Elysium

was my entertainment and boy, howdy, did it entertain me!  I was appalled, shocked, impressed and riveted to the screen.  I was scared, sad, and jubilant from scene to scene.  It may not be every one's movie but I don't watch many.  Even a year after it has been in theaters it was good enough to knock my sci-fi socks off.

I've been At The Farm far too long to be so easily entertained by one movie.  Doesn't take much but I'm still reeling from Elysium.  Matt Damon and Jody Foster were just two of the memorable cast.

"Never forget where you come from."

Elysium is a movie worth watching if you're a little different like me.

Enjoy.

Alice In Wonderland

A comment I made earlier on a friends blog made me remember this.

When the children were young, we use to take them to drive in movies. There were no ratings on movies and you just went to see them.  As we drove in, the bill said Alice in Wonderland and Pinocchio, Double Feature...alright, how lucky could we get?  The perfect show for children.

We gathered our popcorn and drinks and all the drive-in goodies, placed the speakers on the car doors and settled in to watch a movie with the kiddies.

Alice was sitting on  a mushroom/toad stool, having quite a good time.  Caterpillar came along and asked what she was doing.  Alice said she felt good and she felt bad.  Caterpillar said "If it feels good, do it".

Thank goodness, the girls were occuppied with their goodies because with that last line, which I did not remember from the Lewis Carrol version, hubby and my mouths were dropping open.

We replaced the speakers and drove back to the ticket stand.  I asked the lady, Did you know it was
That Kind of movie?  She answered with a sweet smile, yes, honey and it ain't Pinocchio's Nose that grows either!

Needless to say, we did get a refund.
