a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Continuing Chaos...

It ain't over til the fat lady sings.
I'm not even humming.
Now you can see why I have had some problems navigating.
The guys felt sorry for me and gave me a hand.
Floor is solid and finished.
Now I just have to paint, install the carpet
and put all the furniture
and tools in their proper places.

Hubby Got A New Toy...

Hubby likes inside toys too.
Before he bought this
we did all the meat grinding by hand.
Yes, that is a smile!
It would have taken an hour to grind this by hand.
Even Andrew helped.
Around here, if you want jerky
you have to work for it.
A wonderful toy for the guys.
Jerky's in the oven and since I took pictures
I'll get some too.
The dogs were pleased with their part.

Dream Journal

2:23AM The stuffy nose
               Leaves me wanting air
               I wake to breathe
               The tablet isn't there

2:24AM  I sniff the Vicks
                A quick fix med

2:25AM  I can breathe
                Have an empty head

2:27AM  When we sleep
               Do we all have
               Icarus/Pinocchio dreams
               With wooden heads
               And feathered wings?

UPDATE: Dreamed of a vacation on a tropical island.  Matthew McConaughey was my personal guide.  Took me to all the beautiful places tourists never see.  Eh!  Don't go there.  I'm too old for THAT kind of dream. He certainly was a polite young man.

The Mag, Dire Consequences

Time again for Tess's prompt at The Mag.  Join the fun or just read other tales.  Keep it short sweet and clean.
Object to be Destroyed by Man Ray

Tick Tock
Count the knocks
Testosterone played
Estrogen lost
Today

Tick Tock
Nine-one-one
Fred wanted to play
Sally fell
They carried her away.

Tick Tock
Sally's home
To Fred, "Wanna play?''
Thinking he would win
He jumped right in.

Tick-Tock
Sally cleaned his clock
"No more," she said
As she bashed his head
They hauled them both away.

Saturday Centus 136

Was it just last week the words rolled out
so smoothly and tastefully I could shout
The words won’t come they hide from me
How can I write something anyone would read?
There’s always time when the blank page cries
Out to be filled and nothing comes. The fingers lie
Softly against the keys,
Oh why won’t they work for me?
Lines of nonsense, words of no value
Lay on the page just for you
So I backspace
Replace
Words that appear
Nothing worth reading here
Thanks to MS Jenny there will be many more
Who have mastered this prompt
Without it being a chore.
