Monday Morning's Commute...

Armed with vital supplies, Dr Pepper and a good book,
just in case no one came out, we began our commute.
My car stayed home.
I was not allowed that priviledge.
The mail must go through.
The weather conditions do not matter.
Nor does it matter, the danger the employees must face.
I was lucky.
I was transported in a 4x4 by dear hubby.
His dream has always been to be a go getter.
Now he can take his wife to work and go get her.

Oh my goodness-it’s beautiful. Gail-are you a postal worker? Is it true that the mail NEVER gets delivered? Has it ever happened where you live?

How much more snow are you all supposed to get this week??
My son who is a letter carrier here in town has a jeep rubicon and he has to go to work no matter what just like you. For him getting there in his jeep isn't the problem, the dangerous part for him is driving around in that little mail truck with chains on trying to dodge all the sliding cars around him.Wonder who came up with that rain, snow or dark of night the mail must go through slogan ? I'll bet they didn't have snow and ice where they lived !!!!
Have a blessed tomorrow and stay safe.

I don't mind if the mail doesn't show up for a few days, but I live in the Netherlands where it isn't snowing right now. The sun is shining and it's 48F.

I didn't get my mail for two days last week and I was very ok with that. It's not worth endangering a life to get my mail.

Although quite picturesque the road are slicker than all get~out. You be careful out there my friend. I'm so happy you have Hubs and his four wheel drive.

God bless and keep it safe girl!

So did you have time to catch up on your reading? Saw a lot of photos where the snow reaches over the tops of the houses - people have to tunnel out their door. If that situation follows up with rain the weight of wet snow could cause a lot of problems with roofs falling in! No fun at all.

Hi Gail..hope you made it back home again. Up here sometimes the rural routes are impassible..but you can go to the PO to get your mail before 8AM if you can get there:)

Haven't seen roads like that around here since early December. I call those kinds of roads "white knuckle" roads!! Glad your hubby is a good go-get-her.....=)

I could have used that Dr. Pepper on my drive home this evening!

I did have a chuckle at those last two lines. ha,ha
Yes, it is true, except here in Atlantic Canada. If the postman cannot get to your mailbox, because of snowdrifts, he just takes your mail back to the post office, for when its been cleared. Those are lovely photos, reminds me of here and always carry Dr Pepper, where I carry Pepsi :)
