a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

S**t And Shinola!!!

The day started wonderfully, warnings of storms and rain.
Took hubby to doctor and, while there,
 the tornado sirens went off.
We ske-daddled to the house,
hit the basement with everyone.
This greeted us after the last downpour.
More details on this later.  Hubby's fever spiked during the night, I rushed him to the hospital.  Appendicitis...have no ideal if I spelled that right or not, still hurts no matter how it's spelled.  No surgeon on staff that was not booked, so hubby rode in ambulance to Baxter County and will have surgery at eleven today.

I had to come home, feed the bottle calf, get Andrew to his track meet (Marcy took him), Bev had stayed with him through the night.  Maybe a dozen phone calls to find someone to cover the office.  Now, off again to attend the surgery...without a drop of sleep.

If you think you are having a bad day, I might trade you!

Oh Gail, you poor thing. when it rains it pours, right? hee hee, how's that for a metaphor?

I worry about that too now that we have moved out here even though we do have a hospital, I wouldn't send my worst enemy there.

Well you know when it rains it pours !!!! Looks like it is pouring on you from all sides.
I'll say a prayer for your Hubbie and you for the coming days will definitely get brighter.
I had an emergency appendicitis several years ago, stayed one night in the hospital and went back to baking cakes 4 days later, just couldn't lift anything.
Hope he will heal fast.
Blessings and prayers to you

The title for your post couldn't be more perfect! Wow... what a mess, all around!
I hope all went well and that hubby is at least resting as comfortably as one can after abdominal surgery. Can they do that laparoscopically?
I hope you get a great night's rest!

Sorry you're having such a horribly rotten day. :( I hope your husband is doing okay. I'll be thinking of him. I hope you're okay with the storms tonight too. Update when you can.

Well, you certainly got your share all at once, didn't you? I'm glad to hear that you're okay. I heard about Arkansas being hit on the news, but that was it. I was wondering how you were. I hope your poor hubby is okay and that all that water disappears soon. The most awful storms do seem to happen in the States. I'm still waiting to hear from my daughter.
