Fibromyalgia, Blood Letting, Bone-Cracking, Haircutting Time Off

For the safety of the general public and my close family members, I wrangled a few days off to get my oil checked and tires rotated at the doctor's office.  I may be drawn and quartered but I used SICK LEAVE, an unpopular choice with the business powers that be.

Off to the doctor...been out of medicine....someone (a he-who-shall-not-be-named tractor man) did not pick it up in a timely manner, sooooooo, had to start them all over again today.  From small to big, and then I will be back on track.

After all this time of being told I was depressed, stressed, or crazy, if you prefer my terminology, they have finally decided I have a real disease.   Fibromyalgia, such a big fancy name for all my symptoms!  Funny thing is, one symptom is depression...no poo-poo!!!  Exhaustion, dizziness, muscle pain, IRRITABILITY,  not sleeping...the list goes on.  The same list I have been giving  them a while.  Did they really think I was just making this stuff up?   So new medicine regimen, blood drawn for more tests, and assurances this is truly my problem.  I feel so much better...can you tell?

Next stop, chiropractor...and he hit all the sore spots that were pointed out to me that were also symptoms of the F disease...but I did feel better after that.

I found a stylist open and thought, what the heck, I have been cutting my hair so someone needed to fix it.  She did and told me I was sporting  the worse haircut she had ever seen but tried her best to improve the cut...makes a body feel good.

I also, FINALLY, got my glasses for my special eyes.  I can read!!!  I can see!!!  These glasses fit and they're not scratched...yet.  I must say it's a pure joy.
This morning I head to another specialist to see whether to keep the arm I have and fix it or just get rid of it...phantom limb can't be much worse than what I'm feeling now.  Maybe I will get a pair of bionic arms to go with my new glasses.

Honey, I am so sorry for all the stress you and body are going thru but I have to say it makes for a pretty darned good laugh at 5AM! You are so dagone funny! Laughter is truly the best medicine!

So glad I wasn't the hair stylist who got your horrible haircut in my chair!!! LOL I can't believe she said that to you.

Healing prayers going your way today!!!

Oh Gail first off you look great, I like the cut. Second I was diagnosed with Fibro 5 years ago some days good some not. They did tell me farming was not helping it :) so I gave it up. You know that is not true. I think a lot of farmers develop this from all the torture they have put their bodies through. I do know if I keep busy and keep lots of heat packs and try not to stress it will not bother me for a few days. Yeah.
I do know the moody thing bothers My Hero more than I :)
Seriously Gail I do understand this disease and you can cope with it just rest when you have to and keep active even if it hurts.Oh yes and don't feel guilty when you can't do the things others always expected from you. Oh yes laughter helps a lot.
Good luck Gail. HUG. B

I have managed to put a big scratch in my glasses; as opposed to the little ones all glasses get.
Enjoy your new glasses!
I hope your new medicine helps you. ♥

My goodness, dear friend I guess I have missed a bit. Glad to hear they finally heard you though and that maybe there is a drug...

Love the new Do, sort of looks like mine. Now that you have new glasses are you seeing anything you have missed? :)

I don't wish the F word on anyone, but at least having a diagnosis gives you something concrete to work with.
Love the hair cut!
Aren't new glasses, with clear, unscratched lenses, fabulous? The world looks a whole lot brighter out there!
Best to you!

Well it's a miserable thing to have but welcome to the F club. Now that you know what it is perhaps the other name calling can subside....well not so much but it was worth a shot. Sorry to hear it but glad you have something to work with. Fibro has so many "lovely" indicators and symptoms.
Great haircut and new glasses, boy I'd say you got all the good stuff.

you did the head-to-toe treatment all at once, didn't you? waving hello to your picture! :)

i am hoping you get some relief now that the doctors actually know what they're dealing with. from everything i've heard/read about the F disease, it can be extremely painful and hard to handle, but i'm hoping you will have better days!

Cute hair! When I worked for my neurologist we saw a lot of f patients. And their symptoms were real, but thank goodness there are meds that can help.

I'm glad that they sorted out what was wrong with you. Now all you have to do is be a good patient and take good care of yourself. I'm serious, Gail!

I hope you get to keep your arm and that it will not be cut off. Try to convince them that you need it for a while longer. I do hope you find out what's wrong with it.

You do look good with your hairdo and your glasses. I told you not to cut your own hair. I'm glad you gave yourself the treat. You look lovely.

Fibromyalgia is very painful at times, but I'm glad there is a medicine for it. I hope it really helps you and that there are other things you can do to relieve the pain. Be kind to yourself, okay?

First of all, I am happy that they finally found what was wrong with you. Now you have the knowledge and can work on it and making yourself feel better.

But....I'm reading your symptoms and thinking, "I wonder if I have this?" Yep, same symptoms and it's driving me crazy cause on most days I'm tired, muscle aches, depression, lack of proper sleep, etc. Yep, maybe I should mention this to my doc.

Thanks for this and have a wonderful holiday....

Best,
Rebecca

Well from my side of the computer screen you look great!!
I like your hair cut too.
Well I do hope you feel better soon, nothing like feeling like a pin cushion before Christmas.

I wonder how many women you will inspire with your story. I've been thinking about a haircut and new glasses. It is getting serious too-of all the skills I possess, I'm best at growing hair.

I hope you feel better. There is nothing like waking up in the morning and getting out of bed because you want to.

Isn't it great when "they" finally figure out that you aren't FAKING??? Congrats on being able to see and keep the arm--Okay?

Well at least they have a name for what ails you, hopefully they are not just guessing !!
I hate going to the doctor, and I have put my appointments off until after Christmas when things slow down.
As far as your hair cut,it looks good to me. Anything that requires minor fixing is my style. I keep mine long so I can just put it up and forget it.
Merry Christmas

That's a lot of stuff going on. Fibromyalgia is very painful. Sorry about that. And your haircut is awesome.

Awwww! Love the photo. The haircut turned out nice. I've been so tempted so may times to cut my own hair. I've not been able to get a pro cut for at least 12 years now. Money always goes to other things and I cut my own family's hair, so how can I justify paying for my own haircut, right?

I think I have undiagnosed F Disease, too. I have most of the symptoms you mentioned, except I get so tired some days that I can barely see straight and have to take a nap or else I become a zombie.

It sucks getting old.

Feel better my friend.

((((hugs))))

wow. I used to have these same symptoms until it was found out, I have celiac disease. Since being gluten free, after years of suffering, the symptoms are gone. You might want to check out a site called, gapsdiet.com. Very enlightening.

I'm sorry about the diagnoses and problems you're having. I don't know what is wrong with your arm (must have missed it), but I hope you can get it figured out. I'll keep you in my thoughts/prayers.
