Skies of Beauty, Skies of Might....

Skies of radiant beaming light.

Red in the morning,
sailor's warning
Cotton candy skies
and butterscotch clouds.

The geese and ducks fly, day and night, traveling south, singing their travel song, leaving no doubt that winter is closing in.

The waters have receded and the ice appears, hopefully, briefly, because I am not ready for winter although the migratory birds tell me to prepare. Oh, that I could fly South for the winter.

As I warm my hands near the blazing fire, I dream of spring...and it snows!!!

Wonderful photo and post ! Its cold here and the furnice is still acting up, Papa got it going early this morning before he went to work but now it has stoped again, we are awaiting for a part. in the meantime I have the wood stove going thank goodness for that as the weather is getting colder and a mix of rain/snow I think it may change to just snow soon ! Weatherman stated 18 in Springfield this morn. My weather-station (don't ya love 'em) read 23 'cause we still had cloud cover.

I love your wonderfully colorful skies girl!

Have an incredibly blessed day sweetie!!! :o)

We had our first frost last night, a thin layer of ice on the water gardens. I covered the small garden and parts of the large garden. Haven't uncovered them yet so I don't know how they fared.

Oh, and did I say, beautiful skies?

How beautifully said (and illustrated)! I love it... especially the references to food - love cotton candy and butterscotch!
Stay warm!

That first shot is gorgeous! You should frame it to hang on the wall. I saw a big flock of geese flying south the other day...maybe they flew over your area, too.

The butterscotch clouds picture is so beautiful. I drove by one of the city lakes, and noticed that some of the geese had landed. Don't know if this is their final destination, or they are taking a break before heading to Mexico.

Lovely photos! Temps here have fallen into the low 30's for highs and the single digits for lows! Burrrr!!! It was 3 degrees this morning!

The weather is horrid here too and we're having a regular storm. I'm just plain cold and could use a warm fire. Can I come and sit in front of yours? XOX

Lovely pictures, don't wish for spring too soon. The change of seasons is one of the things that make life so interesting.
