Lord, We Need A Rain...

to plump up the peaches
and make the berries fat.
With some blessed rain roses won't look like that.

We had a horrendous downpour last week that lasted a full day and 1/2. We received 100ml of rain - topped up our river banks, etc. Now a full 5 days of wonderful sunshine. Raining this morning with the promise of afternoon sun. I guess you do need the rain to plump up the peaches and berries. I never saw peaches growing on a tree before - great photo.

Oh my darlin', I have to tell ya I was concerned, darn concerned and I'm not a worrier.

We invest thousands and thousands of dollars puttin' crops in. We hadn't had rain in like forever. Soybeans popped up outta the ground anyway and were cookin' at an inch high.

Sunday we took our guest speakers out to eat. It was sunny, ninety and not a cloud in the sky when we entered the restaurant. The pastor asked if we had irrigation in the fields and I said nope, lifted my hands high and said it comes from above.

It was rainin' so hard when we left I got drenched goin' to the car. 'Got home and our fields were blessed with a 1.4 rainfall. It was one of those some got and some didn't. My grass was brown and August crunchy.

I pray your place will get such a blessin' soon and very soon sweetie!

God bless and have an awesome day my friend!!! :o)

us too. I fear we are in for another long hot dry summer.

we're not quite as bad off as you, but, yes, we need some too. grass is browning, bare ground is starting to show. what was green is being devoured by thousands of grasshoppers.

Now see, I did not realize that lack of rain made roses look like that. I would have thought bugs or disease.

So much to learn.

*hugs* I pray you get your rain, Gail. ♥

We had a hot spell in March, followed by a freeze. A good one. Michigan's fruit crops--apples, peaches, cherries--have been decimated. Mother Nature can be cruel.

I hope you get your rain.

We've had a lot of rain this spring and really needed the sunshine. We had that today and it was great. I guess we each long for the opposite weather. I hope you get your rain soon. xox

We are getting rain here in northern Virginia, and while everything is really soggy, I'm not going to complain, it's good for everything, including our well. I'll hope some of our rain comes your way...

I know how you feel..no rain is terrible. We need it here too..but I am afraid we are pretty much done for the season. A long and hot summer is upon us. It hit in the low 90's much of the week. Yesterday was not bad nor today..but it's coming...OH..it's coming!
Pour water on those berries!!! Please..I LOVE berries!!!

Just love that clever wit of yours. I never know what I'm going to get at the end- something sentimental, something thought-provoking, or something completely unexpected!

Oh Gail I understand this worry.
I do like your rhyme.
Our cows are walking around looking for grass and they have mud up to their knees coming from the very low pond. Last night we had a heavy downpour of rain so it surely helped a little. Maybe Nezzy's prayer will work for you too.

It is getting on to the cooler months here in Australia and we also need the rain at our farm. We have a small bunch of hills right near our farm and the clouds roll in from the bay, get to the hills, and disperse around our farm.. not a drop of rain on the farm! You can drive about ten minutes in any direction, away from the farm, and it will be teaming with rain!
When it does rain, we catch every drop of water we can and put it into water storage tanks.
Love your images :)
