The Circus Witch and The Yellow Clown, Chagall
The crowd watched as the strong man romanced the circus witch.
No one noticed the clown shedding invisible tears.
Tess Kincaid, creator of The Mag, challenger of writers every where, has picked a doozie this week! I was left behind in the dust. Hop over to visit Magpie Tales. There are many wonderful contributions from creative people there.
Thanks, Tess, give me an easy one next week!

awww...i feel for the clown....and the strong man will one day stop lifting and get fat...and i hope the clown still smiles in the end...smiles.
Well done Gail!
Hmm. Clowns are creepy, so I hope that witch pays no attention to those crocodile tears. Beware the one who has to paint his smile on.
sympathy rises for the clown
poor thing
Being funny when you are sad is the circus clown's lot. Come to think of it, circus clowns are often ex high wire artists. Your succinct comment suggests to me; maybe that is what the tears are about.
I think what you wrote is great, Gail! :o)
Poor clown. That's a whole novel in those few lines Gail!
well done Gail...thanks for sharing
people don't want to notice the ones with invisible tears!!
show's about to begin
Oh my goodness, why did you stop there! I was just settled in for a really good tale...and oops it was all over! I for one think you aced this prompt!....what a beginning to a really cool story....!
Great opening line to a possible great story - it is a "doozie" and an eye opener. You got your point across very well.
Such is the lot of the clown...
Anna :o]
I like the notion of invisible tears...
Tears of the clown ~ perfect!
You got a lot said in those few words. And I felt for the clown.
Big-time.
