The prompt this week is the picture below. Number of words: 100  Style of writing: Any Pictures: No additional.

These are words Ms Jenny used for this week's challenge at Saturday Centus, a writing prompt.  Join the fun and visit all the entries.

Blocking the sun filling the air
The smoke rose everywhere.
People gathered to look
On the day the earth shook

What can this be?
Smoke was rolling
No one could see

One lad tiny and fair
Softly said,
I can get there.

He walked long and far
Using the muted sun
As his guiding star.

His dog and the lad
Armed with a stick
Walked from clear air
To where it was thick

Disappearing in smoke
The lad was last seen
Waving out the window
Of a big silver thing.

No trace found
Except for one dog hair
On the ground.

There you go woman, whipping up those words, poetic style and telling a story. Was this your fair haired lad by chance?

So clever! I laughed at one dog hair left on the ground...(I'm constantly cussing the mounds of hair everywhere in my house) Oh well, I love my furry pets, hair and all!

Oh my I can sense another tale of this fine lad and dog....hanging by a thread of hair....to be continued hopefully!

I think the worst happened but I hope not. Is there a good outcome or is it left to my imagination?

Just checking to see what the gang was up to. Very nicely written, Gail.
I wasn't thinking UFO at all, rather a catastrophy of sorts like probably your boy was.

Wow. I loved this. It felt a ballad to me...one that should be sung atop a mountain...

It was beautiful.

Really neat use of this picture prompt!
