Jenny's prompt this week is: "Cream together butter and sugar..."

The family curse…moon madness some called it or Wolf Time. Name it what you want, it didn’t change.
Every generation one of us was affected by the moon. Badly. The curse did not leave us. Each generation we waited to see who would hear the moon’s call.
Years ago the affected person would just be contained until the moon changed. Our secret was kept.
Great Granny knew the magic of herbs so she discovered a combination that curbed the madness.
We use an old family recipe. Cream together butter and sugar, dried Wolfsbane, flour and eggs and bake.
During the full moon we eat cookies.

One more time . . . YOU'RE GOOD!
Ha, I love it. What a good ending! You're very good. xox
Awesome writing! :)
What a yummy twist to the ending! I love these short stories of yours!
Hmm. Next time, take two thirds of that butter and melt it first. Once melted, stirring constantly, keep it on the heat until the butter is browned, but not burnt. Remove from the heat then add the remainder of the soft butter. Add sugars, egg and vanilla. Stir for 30 seconds and rest for 3 minutes (do this 3 times). Add flour and the rest of your ingredients.
It may not ward off full moon madness, but it will lend a lovely caramel flavor to your cookies.
BTW, that is most of a recipe for the Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies. ;-)
Add a cup of borax to that mixture, then throw those cookies behind the fridge and under the sink. Guaranteed to kill roaches. But for God's sake, don't eat them.
Can you pass the Wolfbane, please??
Very clever. I like it and my stomach's growling like a wolf!
I eat cookies ANYTIME!
"Wolfbane", I presume.....cute - loved the ending - at least we know the butler wasn't involved. These are great exercises. Happy Mom's Day To You :)
Good job combining butter, sugar, and a wolf!

Now we know how to help Jacob in Twilight if only the recipe is shared. :)

Awesome, Gail! :o)
This is absolutely true! The moon can keep you awake!
My mother and my grandfather had this problem. Always awake on the night of the full moon!
Well done!
Best wishes,
