Old Enough

to know better,
young enough not to care.

Old enough to vote and fight
Old enough to drink and swear
Old enough to smoke
but can't...I lose things...
I put them where??

Old is an Odious word
The alternative is not my choice
I just hitch up my stretchy pants
and find reason to rejoice.

Just love how you've written this ...
Those last words are important and we need to heed them too ...

"find reason to rejoice."

There is always reason to rejoice, although at times the reason may be small and other times much bigger.

My cup is always half full, and not half empty ...

Have a great day

All the best Jan

I love this! O is indeed an odious word in our society, though it shouldn't be. Some aspects of getting older are very freeing, we can get away with more! :-)
