a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Q, R, and S

Quickly but not quietly they competed.
The Starter pistol fired again and again.
Stop watches Started and Stopped as they Raced.
Hurdles were conQuered.
Batons carried.
Staying in their lane
they gave it their all
unQuestionably
Spiritually
and physically.

Sadness came.  This may be the last Track meet I see with Andrew as a Senior.  It will be the last I see many of these competitors.  Hopefully they take the Track lessons with them...Run in your own lane, overcome hurdles with grace, follow the rules, save a little extra for the sprint and always, always give it your best Spiritually and physically.

To all Seniors everywhere, Congratulations.

For A to Z Challenge.

How quickly time flies, and how much younger the high school kids as the older I get. Babies...just babies. I wish them well in their future, but I am worried about what kind of problems they are inheriting.

What fantastic photos you managed, right in the middle of an event. He looks like he gave it his all, for sure. Good lessons for the journey ahead.

Their race is just beginning. It sounds like they are prepared.
Is Andrew going away to college?

I carried my high school sports, together with speed skating and horseback riding forward into my life. I still love reading about our small town's high school sports in our local paper and realize how lucky those kids are to get their pictures in the papers and accmplishments mentioned. That just doesn't happen in the larger cities.

Those are great lessons for all stages of life. Doesn't look like he left anything on the track. If he goes to college, you can have those events to look forward to. If he doesn't, you can watch him apply that same grit to life in general. Either way a winner.

Perfect metaphor for life, Gail! I know how sad it must be to see Andrew reaching the end of his school years, another chapter of life closing, a new one beginning. I know that no matter where life takes him, his love for you and his grandpa that have given him so very much of your time and love, will remain with him and lead him to places we never even dreamed possible. I think God placed him right where he needed to be! :-). We will donate boxes of tissues for graduation, coming up soon!

Great captures!

These grandkids sure grow up fast, don't they?
I can't believe our Jeremiah is in high school.
Soon he will be graduating, too.

*sigh*

But don't we love being their grandmas?

=)

I think I would paint the sequence for Andrew - WOW, these are truly nice captures of grace, speed, determination, and acceptance of giving it everything you can. May these follow him through life. He certainly got the right start with folks at the farm. lol HtoM
