Broken Fence

Grateful I was not working in this spot when the limb fell.  It did stick into the ground so it would have damaged a human.  We were lucky it only damaged the fence.  It also knocked my horseshoes off!  Repaired again (not pictured) with the grass trimmed...just like new/old.

Falling limbs are so dangerous. The storm that blew through the other night knocked several out of my pines. One downburst lifted up my roof a bit and pushed back a post.. very scary. Love your old wheel.

those limbs can be so dangerous, it happens all the time. during superstorm sandy large limbs destroyed cars. my son fell onto a broken tree limb when he was 10 (he was climbing the tree) the limb was broken in the upward position and he tore his testicles open. stitches and surgery, poor kid, he never climbed a tree again!!! true story!!!!

I didn't realize you wore horseshoes... :)

Nature constantly seeks to destroy the works of man and reclaim her own. (Remember Frost's observation about nature and fences?)

We lost a tree like this, but it fell away from house, so had to cut the second one down due to damage from hurricane winds and torrential downpour. Yep, that branch woulda hurt. H to M and have a lovely day. I have been so busy helping friend organize running for town council - rush is almost over as voting is next Monday. Have a good one.

You know it came down hard if it stuck in the ground.

And I am so very glad it didn't come down on your head, no matter how hard-headed you claim to be! ;-) The coolest part about your farm is that everything old gets repurposed and given life anew!

Every day for the past month, we have walked past a widowmaker limb in the park where we walk daily. How I have wanted to pull on it... but... thank heavens, my stupidity has not been so great. I'm so glad no one got hurt at your place!

Sometimes nature is in control and then age makes a difference as well.

yeah, that had some force behind it!

Horse shoes falling is a whole lot better than taking off your own shoes. Fence looks brand new, sorta.

You are fortunate!

There are some storm-broken trees around here. I wonder when they will come down. Glad you are all okay!

See! The horseshoes proved their worth! They provided the luck that no one was injured! :)

Yikes, that would have hurt!! So glad you weren't near the scene of the crime. Glad you got the horseshoes back up to keep that special luck intact.

Yikes! We used to have so many old trees in the yard that I wouldn't mow if strong winds were about.

Most of those old trees are gone now.

Glad nothing was hurt. I love that old fence grouping.

I used to fret about falling trees. The wind always scared me. Now... in Colorado, not so much. Our trees aren't that large!
But, it is terrifying to think of limbs falling, or trees falling on the road as you are driving.
Glad all is OK and it is all back together.

I'm about to get my first home, and it has no fence. I'm okay with it as it's just another thing to take care of and fix.

Yikes! Good thing you weren't there when the limb fell. Nice to know you were able to repair the fence and put your horseshoes back up.

Goodness, that could have been really nasty. Glad no one was anywhere near this when it fell.

As others have also said, you were fortunate, that could have been nasty...
Good to know all is repaired and your horseshoes back up!

Hope your weekend is going well

All the best Jan
