Friday The Thirteenth...

I never really understood the bad luck connection or why there was fear connected to this day.  This will be a big year for fear, we're gonna have three Friday the 13ths.  I prefer to think of it as a good number, especially when a baker's dozen of donuts numbers thirteen.

Temps have dropped here and I am freezing my buns off (it just feels that way, haven't lost an ounce due to cold weather, but I can hope.)  I think of all the pluses of cold weather and  have decided I would rather have ticks.

Today, I rename this a lucky day.  I am lucky for many reasons...my eyes aren't crossed, even though for years my mother warned me they would stick that way.

I am lucky the road above always leads me home.  I'm extremely lucky I'm not naked and wet outside in this freezing windy weather.  Now, if that's not lucky, I'd like to know what is.

May your day be lucky, may no one hit you in the head while your eyes are crossed (Mom knew a girl, she swore, whose eyes did get stuck!)  And, most important of all, may you receive a Baker's Dozen of whatever you wish for on this fine Friday, the thirteenth.

Great positive take on this day/date, Gail. I was born on Friday 13th (February) and when I arrived, my dad who'd been on board a ship during the war and subscribed to this superstition, decided it was his luckty day! So it's always been MY very good and blessed day. My husband's too, although I have to remind him of this sometimes, lol! Have a wonderful day. Jo. PS I'm glad your eyes didn't stick in a crossed position. The old people had some strange beliefs!

It's cold down here too Gail though probably not quite as cold as your part of the state. I'm lucky I don't have to get out today at all and since hubby does have a meeting I'll have part of the day to myself and can turn the heat up as high as I want. :) Blessings to you on this lucky day! marlene

It super cold here (but then you knew that). Had a snow day yesterday. Bummer, now we won't get Monday off.

I love the number 13 AND Fridays.

What a fun, upbeat, post! I love the Polyanna-ish way you thought of things to be lucky for.
I never thought of the 13th as being unlucky, either. And as for freezing buns off... don't you think the cold weather should boost our metabolism enough that we CAN eat those cinnamon buns??!!

Have a great day!

It's cold here, but it's supposed to be that way in January. This week while driving, the thermometer in my car told me it was 49 degrees outside. Now that's just weird.

I fear the effect of the full moon more than this date. When they happen together, I call in sick.

Over here it's Saturday the 14th now. I made it through the 13th without a hitch. Nothing bad happened. I didn't really think there would, although with all the superstition around the world, you almost expect it.

Is there a gitch in you computer that instead of posting a comment, it comes to my blog as a back link?

Most readers post comments, and the few that back link, ask before they do.
